For Christmas, my grandma always gives me gift certificates to sit down restaurants(like 100 dollars worth of 25 dollar gift cards to different places. That was fine when I had a longterm girlfriend, we made use of them. Now over the past 2 years I have a collection of gift cards to olive garden, chili's and the like. I am not going to take a new girl on a date to any of those restaurants, let alone use a gift card in front of them, nuthin says "are you impressed" than takin a girl out on a date to a place you have a gift card for. If I go catch a bite with a buddy it will more than likely be at a bar and I'm not going to go eat alone.

There are gift card exchanges where they give you money or gift cards for place you want. Check https://www.plasticjungle.com/main?gclid=CLLK5NGZ4LMCFcsWMgodGgIAfQ or http://www.cardpool.com/?jadid=16293157092&jk=cardpool&jkId=gc:a8a8ae4e730cf814b0130d3aba15976de:t1_e_:k_cardpool:pl_&jp=&js=1&jsid=25439&jt=1&gclid=CJPf2pSa4LMCFQVgMgodUVoABg

Mind you, I havent used them so I don't know how well it works.

I am not trying to be a busybody, or butt into your business, but you could use them to order take out food for yourself or you could take your mom out. I'm sure she wouldn't care that you used a gift card. It would be a shame to see them wasted. Or you could give them to one of your friends who is having a rough time financially and cannot afford to eat out often. You must date really high maintenance women, if they would ***** about going to Olive Garden. I'm sure your brother could use them.

I'm married, those restaurants would be a treat. I'll take 'em.

Mom, Carol, was born on Christmas day (1939). So she's a Christmas Carol.

Passed away, too early, from cancer on New Years Day (2005).

Best Holidays for me were X-mas and New Years 1990. Was TDY in Panama at Howard AFB during the Desert Sheild build up and then Desert Storm. Met my wife.

I've had a couple of bad Holidays. The following year in 1991, had just gotten married and we were separated while waiting for her VISA paperwork to get approved, that was pretty damn lonely. Then 1992 while home for the Holidays spent time with my Aunt who was dieing of metastatic breast CA and on hospice care. She died a few months later. Was also the last time I was able to visit my grandmother before she passed away, although I didn't know at the time, she was still in reasonably good health given her age.

Me and my asian crew destroy Soju on our K nights...

American sold Soju is not the same thing. Soju over there is essentially moon shine because it is completely unregulated. It can be 20 proof one day and 200 proof the next. You never know.

I personally dont think its a matter of being high maintenance. I just think, taking a girl out on a first date to a place where you have a giftcard for is classless and its my personal preference to go to unique places and not chain places they have been to a million times before, not a matter of cost either, I'll take em to a hole in wall bar thats 10 bucks a plate if they have good food atmosphere, thats unique.

Yeah, that's what made it so good! Here in the states it's subject to our ridiculous potency laws.
