What do you think is the biggest misconception about the Bulls?

(Stemming from things you hear everywhere, yet they're not true...)

That this team is a SG away from being an NBA Finals caliber team.

What else do they need?

IMO a better backup at the PG position. Watson isn't the type of guy I think that fits what the Bulls would prefer off the bench. As I've discussed in the other thread I think Boozer is a liability at the PF position as well. This team is built to be a really nice contender and upper seed in the East for years but they just don't seem to me to have what it will take to get over the hump of the Miami Heat if the Heat is able to continually add pieces to the best core group in basketball.

I don't think JR Smith, Kevin Martin, Wilson Chandler, etc etc etc get us past the Heat.

I dunno CJ is decent, he plays good D, I think he needs to drive more than he does when his is in. I dont think our back up PG matters as much in the playoffs given how many minutes the bench plays.

Do you think Booz could become our 6th man??

I think Taj would be better starting than Boozer honestly, he is not as talented offensively as Booz but how much offense has he given us? And on the other side of the ball its like night and day.

That being said I dont see Thibs not starting that much money nor do I think Boozer is the type of guy not to complain about starting. But then again where was Boozer in most 4th quarters of the post season?

I just don't understand your logic. We lost to the heat (all the games were close).

Boozer was hurt. Brewer was hurt. Noah was coming off an injury. Korver wasn't making a shot. Bogans was our starting 2 Guard.

You make it seem like the team that had the best record in the NBA is destined to never win. Chill out

Because the Heat IMO are going to get better...and the Bulls "big signing" is going to get worse and is mentally weak as hell. The entire not mentioning Bosh by name thing is just a sign of how ass hurt Boozer is over the Heat choosing Bosh over him...almost a year later.

I don't see the Bulls being able to keep up. I think msot people would agree the Bulls overachieved this season. We lost to the Heat in 5 games. You can say the games were "close" but frankly, I was suprised we played them that closely.

The biggest misconception is that they Bulls need a good, big shooting guard. Watching the finals shows how the heat have hard times with good scoring combo-guards. Terry is tearing it up right now. there could be a few good scoring guards available late in the first--I like Norris Cole as a second point guard, because he is quick, a good defender, and can score. The only issue the Bulls have is not having another scorer, I don't think that it matters where it comes from. The shooting guard position is an issue, but if no one good is available at that position late in the 1st, i think they take the best scorer available, whether that be Selby, Cole, Harper, Johnson etc. I don't think that Selby would be on the board that late in the draft, but he has the potential to be a great scorer off the pine...if Thibs works with him and gives him some time, which i doubt will be the case due to his poor shot sellection...

The Bulls will get better as well. So far the Heat has showed that they will cut role players to add new ones(because their lack of salary space makes them do that)which means that the Heat's three stars will have to get used to new guys like they did with Bibby and Dampier. The Heat are going to get end of the road guys who have lost several steps looking to get an easy ring, but they will be on a short leash. To me the big three will get better but their cast will just be about the same as they are now, just some different names, but all producing the same amount of production which they are producing now which is minimal at best.

Huge reach IMO seeing as we don't know what the financial structure of the league is plus the Heat will be eligible for more and more MLE's(if those still exist) as things move on. They weren't eleigble for MLE's before this season so that hurt the surrounding cast.

I think outside of evaluating who we know willbe on any teams rosters long term with the CBA upheaval it's incredibley premature to judge who a team will or won't be able to bring in based on salary concerns.

The Bulls need a 2nd star player. And, whoever that is, it isn't Carlos Boozer.

ding....ding

i think carlos has/had the potential to be that 20/10 star complement guy but now injuries are catching up with him as well as age...

deng is a great SF offensively and defensively but you need another guy who can get 20 a night

although you CAN win without two really star players....but you have to have veterans like jason kidd and terry or a closely knit team bunch of border line all stars like the 04 pistons...besides that you need multiple stars and and/or a complete starting 5...although i think with a jj redick like shooting guard that the bulls would still not be there as a title team because they still wouldnt have another prolific scorer that can take the load off of rose....

another guy the bulls should take a look at who could provide scoring punch is BC's Reggie Jackson. He is a 6'3 combo guard who is extremely athelitic, a good shooter, good passer, good rebounder, solid defensive player, and has a freakish 7 foot wingspan, so he could definitely stay in front of guys who are taller and quicker than him. If he is available late at 28,the Bulls should take a hard look at him. He could be the Bulls' Jason Terry
