it was ok.

i got a few jerseys signed, sharp, smith, crawford and hammer. a couple pucks signed too (kruger and sharp). i like getting auto's so that is usually where i spend most of my time since i dont live in chicago so getting things signed is hard for me. think the wife and i waited at least 6 fucking hours for sharp, it was crazy.

i really go now for the equipment sales since hawkquarters doesn't sell stuff anymore. i picked up some almost brand new bauer third jersey pants for $75 friday night. so geeked to use those.

last year i picked up a lot of pro stock havlat sticks cheap when they got marked down sunday ($150 -> $50, $225 sticks MSRP). broke them all over the course of the year so i was ready to stock up again. not as many good sticks as last year and they didn't budge from $150. i saw troy sunday and he said they weren't gonna mark them down cause now they have "another way to sell them if they dont sell today", kinda weird.

first time we have been away from our baby (4 mo old) so that was weird. we had great dinners fri/sat night so that was fun. all in all a great weekend.

Interested to hear how Carcillo seemed as a person. Typically players who play the pest role are pretty nice off the ice.

Carcillo wasn't there, as his sister was getting married.

The convention was ok. Apart from all the puck bunnies. It was a good time. Scotty bowman was kind of an ass. Asked to shake his hand and he offered me his pinky instead. Stalberg was a bit of a dick. Leddy was talking to some girl the whole time he signed and never greater anyone. Met Crawford and Bickell on the street. Crawford was a bit of a dick and wouldn't take a picture or sign with some young kid. Bickell was cool about it. Hossa was super nice. Kruger was polite. Q walked by us and he waved and had a big smile on. And all the old timers I ran into were nothing but a pleasure. Met Glenn hall in the bar. He talked everyone's ear off. Super nice guy. Stan bowman was nice too. Foley was super nice also. And last but not least. Big John Scott, he was a super friendly guy. He tried having full conversations with everyone. It was good to end the week with meeting him.

You mean that was his excuse while he was REALLY out eating babies, tripping old ladies and just being all around a bad guy?

No, what he said was that he wasn't there because he was the groom at his sister's wedding.

lmao i wouldn't get all offended if someone didn't want to shake my hand. put yourself in their shoes, i wouldn't want to do that either. nor would i want to pose for pics with a bunch of nerds in hawks jerseys in the 95 degree heat. i'm sorry but these things are 90% dorks. thats just how it is. bunch of weirdos.

get your shit auto'd and keep it moving. they all got hot women, they don't want to hug every girl in line.

i admit obviously i'm a hawks nerd, but most of these people bring it to another level.

Did they have a bunch? I got some practice/game worn third socks last year. I would love to have the pants too.

Any idea if they will be on the auction site or did Parchy say how they were selling them, exactly?

I know what the term means - rather I'm looking for explanation on what he saw, stories, and pics would be great too!

Some 19 year old girl explained how shed been watching the hawks since 09. And she ranks players on looks not skills. She also just got a hawks tattoo. She had no clue who most the old timers were either.

Then some other girl (complete stalker) was explaining how she gets all her autographs. Fucking freak about it.

Then kept hearing conversations about how hot Swedish guys are. Kinda got annoying.

Well they wouldn't sign anything either. We pay good money to see them. They can sacrifice a bit for fans. And even I was making fun of everyone in the sharp line. 6 hours?

So by "get your shit auto'd and keep it moving" you mean "stop everything you're doing and cancel all plans for 6 hours to wait for one player to sign a jersey, then repeat"

These players get paid a lot. If it weren't for fans. They wouldn't be getting paid as much. Granted most of the new fans are very young women who don't know the half of the game, they still pay money to see them.

They can just wait till they are not as relevant. The old timers were so nice. I asked glenn hall for his autograph. He's the one who started talking to me. Same with John Scott. They were just more personal.

It was pretty okay. Got alot of autographs on stuff I wanted. Got to meet some players and announcers that I have been wanting to for a long time. The opening ceremonies where awesome. Hearing Jim sing in that relativity small room was great. It's too bad that most of the players where dicks. Saw Crawford outside on the street and wanted nothing to do with me and like 7 other people. Stalburg was a very stand off guy and didn't want to sign anything. Hossa was nice, signed something for me when I saw him in the front Lobby. All the old time players where great though. All very nice. John Scott was nice too. He was probably the best guy out of all the current players. The security they hired (not the Hilton security) where awful! No public relation skills at all. But All in in all it was a nice opportunity to get out of work and spend time with my friends and meet some good players.

Also, it was nice meeting you JakoBeast!

Security should be the same ones from the UC, if you had to put up with the shit most of them deal with , your attitude might be a little harsh.
