I like it. Always liked Steeger's game and was never a big fan of Hayes. Don't know what happened to Olsen as he looked decent a couple years ago but apparently not what the Hawks were looking for. Versteeg is only 27 but he still might turn out to be a rental as his 4.5 mil contract might be a tough fit next year. He fits now because Florida is pickng up half of it. Regardless, Hawks not standing still and I'm liking it.

From what I'm getting is the hawks will pay 2.2 mil for each year left on his contract. If that's the case that is a pretty good move by bowman

Interesting... On csn, just talking about the trade and you could see Saad & Crawdad walking out of the locker room. But afterwards came Morin with a stuffed gym bag and a bundle of sticks. Obvious what's going on there.

I'm not too sure how I feel about this one. I like Versteeg, he's a solid role player; but I've always endorsed having more guys with some size. Not to try and build an overly physical team like Boston recently or anything, just one or two more guys that are harder to move out from the goalmouth. Then again, the Legion of Doom line was always my favorite forward group...so... And it isn't as though Hayes is the type that his size gets in the way of his skating ability. Actually, for a guy his size he skates pretty well. But oh well, hopefully Kris will help toward putting another run together.

Man I was so pumped .. my blackhawks app popped up right when I went to bed and I saw STEEG was back , especially for the price unbelievable huge upgrade and one step closer to having a legit solid locked in roster, it gets kinda irritating watching them juggle around all the youngsters everynight , hopefully they keep Pirri around though he has been awesome glad he finally is getting a chance... plus Q sending him out for the shootout..
But steeger will help powerplay and I'm glad he's back like to see Ladd FROLIK (he and Kruger were awesome together) or even Jack skills!

Great trade with Tallon picking up half the contract. Gives the Hawks unreal depth with Steeg on the third line.
Steeg is an excellent pk'er, knows the system and is a complete turnover machine. It could be worse.
