Better team won. They didn't have Oshie or Berglund & still outplayed the Hawks.

Win Game 2 and the series is still completely in your favor.

Not the best Hawks game, but still not convinced the Blues can score with the Hawks.

i'm concerned that Miller who has been off just ran 4 periods together. damn.

A killer heartbreak? Or prelude to the best first round series in hockey?

that was good, lets do it again.Keep our heads up, massage time. Come back stronger, figure it out! We can take the next one, or the next 3 after that. We are never out of it.

I saw this coming. This game should have been won in regulation. Game 2 we need a win to grab home ice. The blues can't run with the hawks offensively so after period one the game went the way that favors them most.

Great to see a ton of new faces in the IGT tonight. Hope you guys will hang with us for what we all hope is a nice, long postseason.

I'm going to be at Game 2 on Saturday, so I probably won't post too much. Keep this place going for me while I'm gone.

All of the advanced hockey metrics put this game heavily in favor of the Blues. I think you can take both positives and negatives from that.

The negative is that the Blues beat the Hawks at their own game: possessing the puck.

The positive is that it still took 3 OTs for the Blues to win.

The highlight of the game for me was about halfway through the first OT, the Blackhawks get a powerplay, the puck is dropped, the Hawks start passing the puck around...then I get a commercial of some skinny girl prancing around in the ocean, followed by some black lady complaining about her TV (ironic). Did this happen to anyone else?
I think it only happened to DirectTV subscribers.

The negative is that the coach sent his guys out there for the entire 3rd period to try and defend a 1 goal lead instead of trying to win the game by scoring another goal.. he played not to lose, and as usual under that strategy....They lost

The only positive I see from that game is maybe they learned from that mistake

I could see the blues steadily gaining confidence starting in the 3rd period, and by the final OT looked very good

Happened at the bar, too.

It was pretty hilarious to watch all the Hawks fans meltdown on Twitter when that happened.

That is exactly what happened, they took their foot off the gas and the Blues passed them up. Even with only 1:45 left in the game, it's clear the Hawks gotta have a killer instinct cause the Blues are not going to give up..

And of course blew two big (and critical powerplay opportunities in OT -and I think a couple in the third) ... they needed that 2 goal lead -and never got it. It was a solid job by the Blues.

Yeah ok ... Bollig can probably be doing something other than playing too. I have posted way too many positive comments (or maybe neutral comments) about they guy that I think leaves the wrong impression. I only was meaning that - that slot had been filled with worse performances in the past (but yeah ... might be time to try a little something else every now and then too.) I am ok with that. :)

Yep, exactly. The Blues kept taking dumbass delay penalties and the Hawks do nothing. You GOTTA make them pay for being stupid.
