Yeah I think I'd have to agree about the Blues being the best team in Hockey right now. I'd say the Hawks are either going to play the Coyotes, Stars, or Red Wings.

Detroit would be a fun match up in the first round. Bloodshed.

That 5th goal was lulz material.

I fail to understand why one would laugh at their own team giving up a goal. Have any insight as to what is humorous about it so I may partake in the laughter? Ya, Emery was out of position, but the goal didn't matter anyway unless we come down to the goal differential tie-breaker for a spot in standings.

I was at the game, so now that I'm home here is all I have to say about the game:

1. That first goal was shit. I was a little confused because this is my first NHL game, but I'm pretty sure most goals don't have the puck going that fucking slow.

2. Sharp, Kane, and Hossa all had bad games. Sharp could've had at least 2 goals and both Kane and Hossa were playing lets handle the puck like idiots until its stolen.

3. Olsen should not be in the NHL. Kicked one goal in, completely lost the puck another time, and just looked stupid out there. I was basically yelling at him the whole game. Awful.

4. Emery gave up two soft goals. The first one, which I already mentioned, and the SHG. He just dove for no reason and it was an easy goal.

5. Holy Halak. He was really good this game. It was awkward because I stood up cheered because I thought Sharp scored and he didn't and later in the game I could've sworn that Stalberg shot went in, but it did not. Halak made a fantastic save and I looked like an idiot.

6. The Hawks showed basically zero toughness compared to the Blues. They were getting pushed around.

It was funny because the Hawks clearly didn't give a shit and that's an awful attitude.

Emery was like "oh look that guy has the puck, whatever I'll let him score"

It has nothing to do with that at all. The goal was indeed just horrible, and it being the 5th goal of one of the worst games of the year, all you can do is laugh. Who cares if he thought it was funny? This whole "you cant laugh at your own team" shit is what it is, shit. Doesnt make you more or less of a fan. Start posting thoughts about the games instead of 1) destroying whats left of a joke and over doing it to where it isnt funny and... 2) stop only replying to Joes comments. Both of those are getting really old. If you tell me you never laughed at a player on your "own" team by making a boneheaded play you are lying.

I don't know - -I would say that had some real gems on that road swing where they got lit up by Edmonton and Calgary (and after having been torched by Edmonton earlier in the year.... ) -- the score suggests that it was just your routine ugly game.

Edit -which is probably even sadder --- it seems run of the mill, ordinary blech. :D

Trying to take the positives out of this game...

Brunette, Stalberg, and Bickell all had really solid games. Stalberg finally started using his speed again and was awarded 3 quality chances because of it. Brunette stakes out in front of the net and gets a nice tip. Bickell had a nice presence all night and continued his strong play.

That first PK was a bummer. Oshie takes a run at Kane and Seabrook puts Oshie flat on his ass. Those are the types of PKs you need to kill and you will get some big momentum because every guy on the bench should have been fine with that PK.

Hossa had probably one of his worst games I have ever seen. He was handling the puck like a grenade the whole night. Very rare to see Hossa off form like last night.

I am hoping we see Hjalmarsson and O'Donnell in the lineup Friday night. I am guessing Lepisto is injured but Olsen needs to come out. He is getting worn down and getting beat wide too often. Also, the turnovers don't help. I think Olsen has a bright future but he needs to go down.

Anyone here not like the Shaw penalty? Not because it was a bad hit, but I think this is the issue with the current NHL. Players don't know how to take a hit. That was pretty much all Shaw's fault on that and not Reaves. Too many players are turning last second or putting themselves in vulnerable positions. Shaw or Kruger are going to get injured that way soon, and it definitely won't be worth it.

Looking forward to Friday. Surely the Blackhawks will see Lundqvist this time and not Biron.

Stalberg had a really good chance early in the game when he used his speed to get past two defenders, but he needs to work on having a better shot. If he has a better shot, that's probably a goal. And if I recall correctly, that would've been the first goal of the game.

You take the good with the bad. If Stalberg knew how to finish more it would be great, but he is only in those positions because of his speed. If he didn't have speed but he had the ability to finish, he probably wouldn't get any chances to finish. He has definitely improved this year over the last, so hopefully we see a small improvement again but I'm fine with it because of his speed and contract.

his shot selection is awful, and his puck control needs work. if only he can improve those skills to go with his speed he would be deadly

but with all the discussions on positives and what not, this is still not a cup contending team. anyone who says "just get in" does not understand the specifics and the variables that go into the post season along with history to back up that this isnt baseball where you just have to get in. im looking forward to next year with hopefully some skilled signings and not the over the hill tough guys.

I was complimenting him. Saying that he had good speed and created a chance. Didn't realize it was a crime to want an average player to improve part of his game which would make him really good.

You people are all so touchy.

That is exactly right. To win a Cup you have to have a really good team
(aka 2010) or you need to be physical with good goaltending. Everyone with decent eyesight knows this years Hawks are not "really good", we know they dont have good goaltending and you dont even have to be a Hawks fan to know that they very rarely ever play physical. There are precious few positives to be taken anywhere with this team. All their best players age another year and they still arent anywhere near being where they need to be. A season wasted gambling on bottom feeders like O'Donnell, Brunette, Caricillo and Lepisto. Leave the fucking kids in there...let them take their lumps now, not down the line when it actually might mean something. Give those useless old farts Bowman signed regular seating in the press box.The NHL is a huge learning experience for these kids...they will learn from their mistakes and just might surprise. Maybe as early as next season.

The hawks big weakness was exposed last night. Play a physical game and this team doesn't play their team game.

I still ***** about Campoli's lame ass excuse for a clearing pass and if he would have come back this year I wouldn't have watched the rest of the season. That ****** cost us what could have been a nice run in the playoffs.
