As the ring leader I would think that you have to send him an invitation first.

I know you dont like joe, I get it. But there isnt anything wrong with his post. You may not agree with things he says, but this one is pretty much the thoughts on bowman at this time.
can't clear the crease either...fits right in with the rest of the circus d-men.I'd like to know how that works. The Hawks are 26th in the league in goals against...if anything, he should fit right in.
He could of got Nash for a 2nd rd pick and Joe would still be pissed off.
Except that they didn't.
-Ok, so I have to play the game... look, if the team is tanking (and this team is tanking, both offensively, and defensively -injuries notwithstanding), and the fact that this is an obvious seller's market...
what exactly would have been wrong being a seller? I mean if someone wants to overpay me for something(s) and I'm barely in the playoffs (and better yet dropping in the standings... it is one thing to be barely in the playoffs or just out of them and surging ... but this team isn't that).
I take it. If what I read was true (considering it was on a blog -it might have been bs) -that Wirtz and McD did not want to take on any commitment past this season ... well, all the more reason.
They aren't going anywhere this season -and they might not get lucky enough to have a Dallas style choke from last season to save them. They'll be lucky to make the playoffs, and the injury bug has shown up in critical places.
Add to this no powerplay ... well what exact 'hope' was there to try to shore up your team for a playoff run?
It was an obvious sellers' market' it was not so obvious that the team should sell -but actual GM's are able to read those situations and act accordingly, even if it means punting on this season.
You keep saying the Hawks should have sold.
Who do they sell?
Bickell? Frolik? Morrison? Good luck with all of those
The only guys that fit the criteria of being sold that have even a fraction of value are Mayers and Brunette. Mayers is worth keeping, maybe even next year. I like everything he's done this year. Brunette? What kind of return does he bring? Does that make any difference on this roster?
Sorry, I know you don't like the Hawks as they are right now (and who does?) but proclaiming that they should have been sellers is silly.
Its just common logic....if you have a team in decline and there's no trade or transaction that can help you turn that around...what sense is there in trading future picks for guys that are rent-a-players or just over the hill? They needed to bite the bullet and sell what they could to prepare for next season.
Actually, the common logic is if you're in the playoffs, you don't sell. Heck, even teams that aren't in the playoffs weren't selling today.
But I know some here just flat out don't believe that even though it's true.
Well its all rhetorical now as the Hawks have decided to stay with Bowman's stiff collection. As hopeless as it seems, I'll still watch and pull for them but just for once I'd like to see a Chicago team try do a little outside the box thinking. Just one damn time because its going to take a miracle from God for this team to suddenly be a force in the playoffs....that is, IF they make the playoffs.
