In the past teams that are faced with a similar situation -where multple players need to be benched (take 1983-84 or maybe it was 1984-85)- what happened then was Orval Tessier got fired -as you can't bench the entire team.

Otoh, Tessier didn't win a Stanley Cup... so it isn't entirely the same.

ehhh. how often do we actually see guys going hard at our top guys like we are seeing tonight. im not sure that inserting him into the lineup every night is worth the risk with his skill, but if i had a choice it would be on the 4th line as a winger.

A blind man could have seen this coming a mile away, though. Ever since the sweep, this has been their game plan.

I'm not advocating him to play every game, but pick and choose much more intelligently.

Honestly, Scott has to be a running joke around the league and no one is going to fight him because he is a joke of a hockey player. If Scott is in the league next year I will be absolutely amazed.

Ok, now that I can see responses, Q has been putting Scott out there in real hockey situations (agree or disagree with those decisions is subject for his line juggling thread). He's actually more relevant than Shelly if you're subscribing to Rupp's point of view.

With the way the Hawks play hockey, there is NO REASON for him to ever step foot on the ice. The days of throwing a guy onto the ice just to fight someone are done. You must also be able to contribute to the team in some manner. Scott does not.

For ****'s sake, even Ben Eager and Adam Burish would find the net every now and then.
