I haven't been to Vegas in a couple years, and I think it might have been bought out, but O'Shea's next to The Flamingo used to have good blackjack tables because they had $5 minimum. Almost all the other casinos on the strip were more expensive. For whatever reason, I always had my best luck playing blackjack at The Palms, which is off-strip. If you want cheap blackjack, you can take a cab to Fremont Street and go to the older casinos.

I agree with this. Go to downtown Vegas which is where the Fremont Street Experience is. All those older casinos have $5 tables until 7-8. The people that play there are average players that won't freak out if you play "the wrong way". I walked into the Horseshoe with $40 and walked out with $400.

O'Sheas just closed down this year. They are building a new entertainment center of sorts there.

I go to Vegas quite often and I would say that just about every place is going to be the same for the most part.

The nicer places are going to have higher limits at night (the Wynn and Caesars for instance) while the crappy little places are going to have $5/$10 limits at night. If you are short on cash, go to a place like Hooters where a lot of people seem to have a good time. Fri/Sat night is always good at Caesar's where they have some nice talent dancing right infront of Pure (their nightclub).

I would say get yourself a Harrahs or MGM loyalty card and try hitting up some casinos on those cards. I go with Harrahs because they comp me at this point, just depends on what limits you play, for how long, and how much you put on the table.

All places are basically going to have the same rules. Some tables won't let you double down on anything except for 10/11 and some will pay 3/2 on black jack or some pay 6/5...just make sure you check the markings at the table when you sit down.

Caesars Total Rewards: Casino Rewards Program

This website should basically help you out.

Depending on how much you put on the table, how long you play, what your average bet is, etc you earn points. These points can go towards food, free casino play, rooms - etc.

Does it matter if i am staying at a non-harrahs hotel?

Not at all.

When I go to Vegas I usually have 4 rewards cards with me.

Harrahs and MGM are the big ones - they each have several hotels in Las Vegas.

Now I usually go with Caesars. Real nice hotel, nice pool, and right in the middle of the strip basically.

I've also stayed at the Flamingo, Rio, MGM Grand, and Palms. All have their pros and cons.

Thats a regrettable choice. Circus Circus is terrible. At the very least try looking at the Imperial Palace or the Excalibur.

Im aware...we really wont be spending time there though...just somewhere to sleep really

Those are dives as well

The issue you have is cab fare to get anywhere. You're so far away from the main portion of the strip that the money you save on a room you lose on cab fare
