The newer playoff format sucks ass. 3rd best record in the conference and have to start on the road. Lucky for the Hawks, they are just as good on the road in the playoffs.

I'm fine with it.
Win the divisional games and they'd be fine positionally. The Hawks have been average at best against their own division.
Whether it's the old school divisional, 1-8, or now I'm fine with them being in.

Even on the road, this Blues team just doesn't scare me like it used to.

Blues won't have the luxury of 3 on 3 hockey in the postseason. They still now have a chance at the divisional crown.

I don't like the matchup vs Dallas if they play them.

Hawks better be prepared to score 6 a game if they play the Stars.
With parody being what it is, get 81, 50 and 15 healthy, and make sure 2 knows how to not smash faces with his stick and anything is possible.

Kinda like the Anaheim series. 5 goals in the last 3 wins.

Playoff hockey is a completely different animal.
Let's see what the Stars can do in the post season. I'm hoping for a Wild/Stars matchup.
The Blues have usually the same game plan: Limit shots to their goaltender and hope to score at least once and hope for a shutout.

Agreed about the playoffs being different. I can't wait till it starts. I tend to watch as many games even non Hawks as I can.

But I don't think the Blues have as much defensive depth to execute that gameplan anymore, and I'm still don't think either one of their goalies is good enough to make up the difference.

I'm as guilty as the next person for hoping for certain matchups in the post season.
In 2014 I thought the Kings were the best way to roll to another Cup until I was sitting alone in my seat in 326 after a game 7 loss.
Anything can and will happen.

This would be a 1-1 game going to OT that was 5 on 5 if this was the second season. Now I understand that certain players would've been scratched, and you may see a healthy Backes in the lineup for the Blues. Reaves has no business on playoff ice, and I have no clue if Bickell is going to see action, but the Hawks should be way more talented to beat the Blues in 7 games. Let's hope Crawford is healthy and the Hawks can steal a game in St. Louis (probably game 2).

Yep. The Blues were without Backes, who is certainly a key player for them. But the Hawks were without Crawford. And Keith. And Hossa. And Anisimov. And Shaw. You add all of those pieces back in and I'm certainly giving the advantage to the Hawks on paper. Doesn't translate to the ice necessarily but it has me feeling pretty good.

The parody being Rosival's parody of playing D on the typing goal. :D He looked like Runblad out there.

That being said, the thing that upset me most about this game was NHL.TV going up and down like whores drawers. In spite of the D being bad (with respect to who wasn't playing, of course), the result could have been a lot worse.

And I liked Dejardin's response.

I though whore wore no drawers....at least in my experience...which might have been a donkey.
