This hardly surprises me. You would understand and im sure Pete can relate. When you have lived in the area you will understand the utter penis envy native St.Louisians have for Chicago. It borderlines on insanity.
With that said, St. Louis does have alot of great aspects that are superior to chicago, although hockey teams are not one of them. They ruin it with their utter jealousy, they should develop more of a **** it attitude.
Admittedly, I preferred living in the St. Louis area. It would have been better were I single, i probably would have hung out with Pete more than I did. You get the big city atmosphere without the big city hassle, thats the way I would put it, I do love the city of st. louis although their people need to work on their complex in relation to chicago. Like the first time at work i said I was going to go grab a "pop" from the machine, people looked at me Like I had just landed from mars and they needed to exterminate me.
The sad fact of it is, they dont realize in the chicago area people dont give them a second thought, thats what makes it pathetic.
I, and admittedly along with other blues fans argued this point on their forum years ago when some dumbass said why doesnt the UC have a hockey statue. Trust me, there are real hockey fans in st. louis who dont buy into sensationalist BS.

I don't need to defend the dude-- the Blues made it to 3 straight cup finals in a weak expansion division not to win a single game.
One conference championship appearance in the last 15 years to be beaten by the Avs 4 games to 1.
