his mechanics over a season in the starting rotation would have a major affect on him. injury waiting to happen in the rotation.

Yeah, even though Kenny talked about making Sale a starter, he'd be a killer closer. He was awesome last season in that role or in setup. In an interview last season, Chris seemed to lean toward wanting either the setup or closing role.

With Arizona, opponents only hit .217 off him.

Adios Pena, hello DJ.

A.j Pierzynski was one phone call away from having the title "former" in front of his employer..but thankfully he re-signed a 2year 8million contract with the white sox!!oh how we would dearly miss him if he left.his own words from an interiew he had last week, ""Not to toot my own horn, but I took less money to come back, and if it helps the White Sox win and get better it'll be a great decision. I just want to win and any little thing we can do is great." thats what i call a committed player who loves his team.

Well, he also took less money because he was absolutely atrocious last season and was lucky to get contract offers commensurate with his previous salary. But I'm totally sure it was all because "he's a great guy".

I think with the arsenal that Chris Sale features (Plus fastball.. hard slider and a wipe out change) it would be a shame not to use him as a starter. Sale's best pitch (his change) wasnt even featured last year cause he resorted to being a two pitch pitcher out of the pen. Organizations dont draft pitchers in the Top 20 (overall) to be relievers. He threw the ball very well out of the pen, but if he is as dynamic as I think he can be. Then 200IP of Sale is a hell of a lot more valuable than 65IP of Sale as closer.. Two rookie closers who turned starter were David Price and Adam Wainwright... I dont think the Rays or the Cards have any regrets putting in their appropriate roles as starters!
