Very true. But I can't ignore the fact that outside of the starting 5, Taj, & Kirk, the rest of those guys look completely lost out there offensively and defensively. Seven games into the preseason and they are looking like a summer league team out there. Maybe because 3 out of the 5 were on the summer league, haha so i guess that scratches that theory.

I think short term resolution is get Booz in there to take some pressure off those guys to score. Now I know Snell won't see a lot of action a neither will Murphy, but when you have Kirk, Mike, and Nazr out there with maybe a Jimmy or a Deng I believe adding Booz in there makes the reserves a better team because what he brings offensively. And Taj doesn't demand the ball and is more of a grit, grind, clean-up the boards kinda player that can run the floor, so I feel he fits better with Derrick.

Season is going to be long. It's hard to put to much thought into what we have seen in the preseason I know. But I am just throwing out an idea of what could help the Bulls weakest link right now. And that is their bench.
Dunno, I heard the same thing last year about the 'new' bench mob, and they turned out to be much better then people thought once they jelled a little bit. Personally, I think the Bulls bench is a strength, not a weakness, as it's been for a few years now, really. Look at each position:

PG - Teague is looking great for those that can't see, imo. His style is very similar to DRose's so not much dropoff in that regard. He's showing starting type of penetration and quickness. If he can start drilling a medium shot, he'll be a great backup PG, imo.

SG - Kirk did great last year as a starter, especially defensively against guy's like Wade, when he was healthy. Moving him to the bench could really help Kirk, imo. Kirk and Teague should work well together, imo.

SF - MDunn is pretty much a similar player as Deng, but can drill the 3 and spread the floor for the bench mob. He's a great team player that's good at a lot of things. Not much dropoff there either, imo. MDunn will play with the starters a lot as well.

PF - Taj looks to be on his game this year. Now that the anckle is fully healed, and add the 20lbs of muscle he put on, Taj should be a force on the bench once again.

C - OK, here's are one weakness, but Nazr looks great, actually. I fully believe that Murphy will get some minutes as well cuz he bring size and hustle to the boards. If he can hit some three's too, then great. I think Taj, Nazr, Deng and Murphy will all rotate a little by years end. Cuz Nazr is playing well, and all sorts of versatility, the Bulls are good at the backup C for now. I'd Love to see Pittman hang around some how so Thibbs can work in his beef at times.

I haven't even talked about Snell who will swing at the PG and SF as well. Overall, I think the bench is going to great. And that's with a great starting group as well. I'm excited for the season.

He's been doing some nice spin moves to the rack out of the post in the preseason games, particularly against OKC last game. I think the loss of weight is making him more nimble on his feet.

If he made it a priority to go strong at the hole more, he would be a lot more dangerous. Those damn fadeway shots are annoying when you know his big body is better served banging his way to the hole...

man if Murphy and Snell can be players that would be tremendous for us. I agree about Teague and Dunleavy, plus Kirk. Spark Plug (my name for Nate Robinson) is tough to replace, but thats Teagues job. To help the rest of the bench be in good spots to make up those points. If Teague, Butler, Dunleavy, Taj, and Noah could play well together, and Rose, Kirk, Dunleavy, Boozer, Murphy could spread the floor and do some things, it would get everybody rest. Too many combination potentials to list, we are deep, but Murphy, Taj, Nazr is a pretty thin bigs bench. Any injury to a starter and we look bad down low.
