They might look good if you have a yellow jersey as well.

But you can´t ask me what has style because in basketball I only wear clothes and shoes with the colors red, white & black! :D

BigP knows less about style than he does sports. Pretty impressive.

I've never understood paying $100 for a pair of "sneakers" or "gym shoes." I've always been able to find good gym shoes for $30 -$50. And I wear gym shoes 7 days a week and do a lot of walking. The more expensive shoes wear out just as fast as the cheaper ones for me.

But then again I never understood why women have to have 20 different pairs of shoes, either. Maybe I'm different, but I hardly ever look at peoples feet.

... Unless they're wearing yellow shoes! Then I try not to laugh until I'm out of their presence.

You mean my SIG? I'm ready to change it now. I'm just having trouble finding something nearly as funny to replace it with!

same reason you would pay extra money for a set of good tires. higher quality shoes are engineered to enhance performance and reduce the risk of injury. even a less than mediocre ball player like me can beat the snot out of a cheaper pair of basketball shoes in a handful of pick up games. obviously, "walking a lot" poses very little risk to turning an ankle or aggravating my shin splints, so i wouldnt spend 100 on a pair of walking shoes. but when youre playing a contact sport that involves high-impact and injury risk on the parts of your body that allow you to do your walking, why would you want to cheap out?

i dont normally buy new models for bball, but i do try to pick up on slightly older models on the sales rack that still have the performance aspects to them without the "just dropped yesterday" price tag. i agree, spending 100s on shoes that you plan to beat up hurts the wallet, but better the wallet then my ankle.

Yeah, I spend more money for better. But I'm not a fool to cough up designer dough for slave-labor footwear, or tires that look better than they perform. The whole pay more, get more theory is BS. If you pay more for kicks, you bought a trendy model, not a higher performing shoe.

AF1s, Saucony Jazz, Canvas Vans, Nike Runner, Puma Kings ect are among the best in each field, even after so many years. Because they were all simple designs with no 'performance gimmicks" tied to them. Trends have driven up prices on simple models, engineering? Not so much, because every shoe is still designed and engineered regardless of intentions.

ugh, even chuck taylors are priced way more than theyre worth nowadays. i remember when they were 20 bucks a pop, as they should be, for canvas and rubber. now they go for a minimum 40, up to 50 bucks?! what happened there?

vans slip-ons are the same thing. 40-50 for a shoe that doesnt even have laces, and look just like the ones they have at payless that are sold for $9.

obviously it takes some time to find good values in the shoe game nowadays, you gotta weed through the trends to find the true performance models (and then trying to find a black/red/white colorway).

our boy himself started this trend. MJ pioneered the expensive shoe! :D
