Technically he already has a Cup to his name as a GM. But he'll win one again this year, amirite?

Yea but was that really his? I meant one on his own. They have a great chance this year and he's done a very good job getting out of the Cap mess.

No problems at all with him as GM. Not sure I'm over the way they fucked Tallon though, but that's just me.

I agree, he has to win his "own" cup. So far I really don't have any true complaints with him as GM, other then why didnt they chase a 2nd line C and a real back-up goalie?

Until they show me something, (yeah, yeah it was just pre-season) I will go with the opinion that they have as good a chance as any of the other teams of winning it all.

Extension already? No problem with it, just surprised. To me this year is his REAL official team.

With what Tallon is doing down there in FL, I'm ok with him not being here anymore. He's made some really ridiculous trades that are obvious losers.

He has to fill spots in until he can build through the draft. I think that team might be more competative than people are thinking. Will they win the Championship, no. He's starting from scratch, just like he did here in Chicago.

As far as the obvious losers, at least they are playing in the NHL.

His first year with the Hawks didn't result well. Some of that was Pulford no doubt, but some of it was Tallon trying to get bodies to ice a somewhat competative team.

Toews was not a no brainer and Kane most definitely wasn't. Many experts (hf50 for PMX) wanted Turris and or JVR.

I'm still hoping they trade Kane for Bryan Little

And wish they would try Bickell at 2nd line center.

Ehhhh, I think Toews was a no brainer. Need a strong center, needed a leader, and Staal had just been taken the pick before.

Not true. Even in that draft many were clammoring for Kessel. I will agree Kane was more of a chance, but again Toews was not everyones pick either.

Glad that he got an extension although there is something I don't like about him.

Stans being doing a decent job up to now...lucky the tools were in place before he got here though.

I still have my likes and dislikes with Stan and some of his moves (and yah there is something creepy about him I dislike also which I can't put my finger on). It's hard not comparing him to a player favorite GM like Dale but I have to let that go. And I do know when Stan got here he had to deal with a cap issue which he has cleaned up rather well. So he does get points for that. But lets remember guys like Frolik, Stalberg and Olesz have Bowman finger prints on them and they need to produce more so than they did last year for me to be hailing Stan anything. The Saad pick is looking pretty freaking brilliant right now though. I think Stan has his fathers eye for young talent for sure.

A few of these young kids that he can claim as his own have a chance to make Stan look very good in the future. Hope for the best and have no issue with the contract extension. As we know in pro-sports a contract extension doesn't give one job security if one actually intends on wanting to keep the job.

The contracts to Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Keith and Seabrook all look pretty good.

Same with Crawfords...Bickell's 500K

Me thinks he should have let Hjarllmarsson go - but he can change my mind after this year if he has a good season.

Leddy for Barker and Johnsson (if he was healthy, how much better would that group have been?) was brilliant

I was kinda hoping Hammer would have been traded too, I felt they could find shot blocker for a lot cheaper.

And thanks to his old buddy he was able to trade Campbell. Lucky for him Tallon doesn't hold a grudge and it ultimately a Hawk at heart.

Stan has not done a bad job at all. It remains to be seen what the loss of BC will do to this team, and just who will eat his minutes.
