And thanks to his old buddy he was able to trade Campbell. Lucky for him Tallon doesn't hold a grudge and it ultimately a Hawk at heart.

Stan has not done a bad job at all. It remains to be seen what the loss of BC will do to this team, and just who will eat his minutes.

Agree but Dale needed to hit that cap floor also. So Stan was also doing a favor of sorts there. Not sure if it was all Tallon not holding a grudge but also getting a need also. Worked in everyones favor.

Don't get me wrong love the Dale but he had an invested need in that trade also. Also just flat out good G.M. moves by Dale to keep possible trade partners in tact. Dale ain't dumb. He knows the Hawks, the deep prospects (half of which are his). Why hold a grudge against a team that can certainly help you out down the line. Nothing is worse than when you burn bridges around the league with other G.Ms. That shit comes back and haunts you. Dale knows..Dale always knows.

Campbell though? Why would a ginger wave his no trade to go to Florida. That guys going to have sun issues.

Cambell went because of Dale. Just as Wilson screwed Stan because of Dale. If Tallon is in Chicago Doug Wilson NEVER makes that play for ultimately Niemi.

Worked out in the long run. Lucky for us fans. Stan has done good so far. He needs to win the Cup to get out from Dale Tallons Shadow.

Agree. Tough job when you step in for a cup winning GM. And we all know Dale is a cup winning GM.

I have nothing against Stan. Other than that creepy vibe he gives off. The man has little charisma.

Like I said the only thing I have against Stan is helping shove a knife in the back of a guy who gave him the chance to learn in an organization, having NO/Zero/Ziltch previous experience what so ever. Stan worked for Arthur Anderson from my understanding. He was fired or let go, and someone(a personal friend of Dale who we can all guess who, cough, cough Daddy) asked Dale to do a favor, which he did.

That to me shows no class to further your career at the expense of someone who helped open the door for you. The entire fiasco with the QA's was none other than the Supreme Being. Everyone knows.

Stans being doing a decent job up to now...lucky the tools were in place before he got here though. I still have my likes and dislikes with Stan and some of his moves (and yah there is something creepy about him I dislike also which I can't put my finger on). It's hard not comparing him to a player favorite GM like Dale but I have to let that go. And I do know when Stan got here he had to deal with a cap issue which he has cleaned up rather well. So he does get points for that. But lets remember guys like Frolik, Stalberg and Olesz have Bowman finger prints on them and they need to produce more so than they did last year for me to be hailing Stan anything. The Saad pick is looking pretty freaking brilliant right now though. I think Stan has his fathers eye for young talent for sure. A few of these young kids that he can claim as his own have a chance to make Stan look very good in the future. Hope for the best and have no issue with the contract extension. As we know in pro-sports a contract extension doesn't give one job security if one actually intends on wanting to keep the job.

Was it brilliant or just lucky a top ten pick (in some peoples book) was sitting there at the 43rd pick of the 2nd rnd.

Usually it's DET or NJ getting a pick like that - and everyone says how Holland or Lou are "geniuses"

It's about time it's the Hawks

A little of both...they could of grabbed him with their second pick in the 1st round but must have done their homework to know they could grab him in the second.
