The Bulls have gone after Kobe, Garnett, Lebron and DWade over the past 5 years. Anybody who thinks they are going to past on the best big man of this era without testing the waters is fooling themselves.

I still don't understand how people can question acquiring Howard to play with Rose. Trading Noah and Deng wouldn't be a hard task at all. Howard by himself is a top 5 defense. I don't get how certain fans catch feelings for decent at best players and don't want to replace them. This is a basketball team, not a soap opera...

Noah, Boozer, Asik, Two first rounders.

PG: Derrick Rose
SG: FA acquired
SF: Luol Deng
PF: Taj Gibson
C: Dwight Howard

Seriously, pick up a experienced two-guard during free agency and you couldn't ask for a better defensive team. Holy f*ck.

Does anyone know how much room we'd have to sign a SG after a trade like this? I'd do that trade in a heartbeat anyway, but if we had room for a decent SG who can at least score 10+ points consistently, we're in a fantastic position. The only slight downside is that our front court depth is essentially lost. But Howard can play 45 minutes a game because he's a freak provided he's not in foul trouble. But I'm sure we can bring back KT or get some other minimum salary vet for some depth.

valid point..although isnt asik leaving after next or something supposedly...and i'd bet you could still sign a big man and you'd still have brewer and bogans at SG(ya not great but when you have rose, howard, and deng...that becomes less of an offensive reliance)

Only question is who's out there that we could get for a backup PF/C? I'm sure we could get some one decent though. Some ring chaser perhaps. I would think at that point we could live with Brewer/Bogans/Korver at SG because since Taj and Howard have a tendency to rack up a lot of fouls, we'd need that 3rd big.

A lineup of Rose, Brewer, Deng, Gibson, and Howard would be so ridiculously good defensively. Thibs might even go to bed happy with the defense some nights. xD Offensively, between Rose and Howard, you're pretty much set. All Deng needs to do is knock down some 3s and score about 15-17 points like he usually does and Gibson and Brewer just need to get around 10 points each and we'd probably be good. Our defense would take care of the rest.

^^ The Bulls would save quite a few if that trade was to happen. Even giving Howard the max. The Bulls could possibly sign 2 good players with Dwight.

If we can sign 2 players after that deal, it's all over. Everything gels properly and we're bringing the trophy back to Chicago. :bullbang:

It's a pipedream scenario as is, so I'm not expecting much out of it.

Same here but FO's do make surprises and we have seen them before. I doubt we will hear a trade being official but I bet we will hear are share of news and rumors up 'till the draft.

I won't keep my hopes up. We all know that if Howard goes, it'll likely be the Lakers. Whenever they have some bad years, they seem to pull off some major free agent signing (see Shaq) or pull off a lopsided trade (see Gasol).

If we have a chance, however, everybody but Rose could be included in a trade package, as far as I am concerned. I mean, I love Noah, Gibson, Deng, Brewer and co., but if we could somehow pair Rose and Howard, it's a no brainer.

Maybe, adidas should get involved with some financial "advice". Howard and Rose are the company's premier representatives. Having them on the same, championship caliber team, would certainly be good for business.

Why would the Magic take Boozer? Why would they want Asik?

Orlando would laugh their ass off at this deal.

+1

It is easily going to cost Noah, Boozer, and Deng for Howard. And not just Howard, we would probably have to take Arenas's awful contract. Orlando's owner is old and wants to win, so I can see him taking Boozer, but only because he has a lot more value than Arenas. Even then we would probably have to throw in 1st round picks, ect.

It is a long shot. But we do have a better shot than like 75% of the teams in the NBA.

I'd keep Asik, honestly. If we get only Dwight then we'd be saving around 4 million in this trade, and then I think we would trade Brewer and Korver to free up some more cash to get a pretty good FA SG. However, I don't think we trade Boozer without taking another contract back, and I think that'd probably be Hedo.

Who exactly is Orlando's starting PF right now again? Brandon Bass? Oh, that guy that scores less and rebounds less than Boozer. Got it.
