Wonder how Klinsmann is going to handle this in regards to the World Cup

Great news for league, not as great for the USMNT

Wow.

As much as I like it for the league. I hate it.

Bradley was doing very well for Roma. I really think that shouldn't be understated. He was doing as well as any American abroad ever has. So why he wanted to cut that success ha has had at Roma short seems strange, not to mention Roma is 2nd and in serious contention for the Scudetto.

Only got 5 starts out of 18 this season after that Belgian international came in. However, he could have worked out a Euro loan deal too and probably still played in a top European league with good playing time.

I mean, he won't necessarily be hindered by playing in MLS either, Donovan has been here for a long time and is still the best player in USMNT history.

With the World Cup coming up, I found it weird, but the league is growing. Time to add a few more DP spots and raise the cap a tad IMO, when NYCFC and Orlando join anyway.

6.5 million reasons to play in MLS.......

Sounding like Defoe + Bradley deals equal to about $100M, must be nice to be backed by the financing of the most valuable franchise in the most valuable sport in their country.

Too bad we will NEVER see anything like this, as long as Dollar Menu is our owner. So far the league has LA, NY, Toronto, Seattle, Portland, (I believe Miami, Orlando and NYCFC will join them) not afraid to spend to get players. If Andy doesn't start to do so, we are going to be screwed. Chicago is the number 3 market in the US, he better start acting like it is or we will never get players like those teams are going to get.

If even more USMNT players come back to MLS there could be the added benefit of helping the team gel. And despite how well Bradley was playing at Roma he would get more playing time at Toronto.

I would like to see a cycle form of young players going abroad to enhance their game, make a name for themselves, then come back to the MLS to increase awareness of the league.

Depends on what age you are talking about them coming back. Bradley is only 26, while others come back past their primes.

I think either one would be beneficial and it comes down to the player's personal preference. During their prime is good because it means there are players in the MLS that are capable of playing at high levels. If enough players come to the MLS during their prime it could change how the rest of the world views it. Past their prime is good for name recognition.
