I like how he literally referred to the McCaskeys organization as a mom and pop shop just like I do. and probably about 4 other people here. probably the most fascinating takeaway is he gave Trestman props for how he tried to organize the team and that his methods are widely adopted by the entire league now, but he was way ahead of his time trying to do it circa 2013/2014. (and I'm not referring to recycle bins) he also threw out how the culture changing between Lovie Smith and Trestman was significant, and Trestman's way wasn't bad, it was just the defense couldn't buy in with Smith gone. (another point I've hammered for many years here and Trestman's tenure's undoing)

the Marc Trestman podcast he mentions is here: The Leadership Gameplan Podcast | University of Miami School of Law (you apparently need Facebook/Google to hear all of it FYI). the hellstorm Ravens game gets a pretty epic mention. Marshall is my favorite Bears receiver, I'm glad he's doing well for himself after football.

So what you are saying is that B Marsh was personally congratulating you on being a great poster?

What a bizarre way to frame things

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Michigan Wolverines
  2. Purdue Boilermakers
Yet Mel Tucker was simply running Lovie's defense. I mostly blame Lance Briggs for being a total shithead after Lovie & Urlacher were gone and the defense seemed to follow his lead.

I came to say this. It was Briggs being a bitch, like he always was. Dude was never a true leader, he just whined all the fucking time. Briggs is overrated by Bears fans.

A training camp story always seemed to be him in a contract issue.

Not until he through a fit over his contract (2007?). Yeah, he definitely changed after that.

So the McCaskey's are stuck in the 50's yet are leaders in diversity in the NFL ?

yeah, when I talk about defensive players having sads, I particularly mean Briggs. also Alex Brown was gone long before this shitshow after 2009. I don't recall hearing the likes of Julius Peppers or Tillman being such crybabies that Lovie Smith was let go. Cutler was just Cutler. Marshall's always dialed up to a 13, Cutler's at like a 6, I could understand how that friction would build over time. Jeffery was another emotional cunt that checked out after Marshall left. but hey good on him for winning a ring huh?

Trestman sounds like he tried to be too accommodating to players. maybe that worked in Canada, but was probably perceived as weak in the NFL. I just find it fascinating Marshall of all people gives him props. lol
