Per the Espn.com article
The White Sox were fielding trade offers for Rios before the July 31 deadline but never found a match. The Rangers and Pittsburgh Pirates were reportedly in the mix. A league source told Levine that negotiations with the Rangers ended when the White Sox wanted 20-year-old second base prospect Jurickson Profar.
I wouldn't budge from that. Profar hasn't lit up the majors. Texas has a goof pitching prospect on their team who is a starter but we need hitting. Rios gives them 12 HR and 55 RBI and a decent OBP with 20+ stolen bases and a decent batting avg.

Rangers Claim Rios – Trade Unlikley
Major League sources have confirmed that the Rangers claimed White Sox OF Alex Rios on trade waivers. The Rangers have until tomorrow to complete a trade for Rios, but sources say a deal is not likely. The two sides had multiple discussions before the non-waiver trade deadline but could not a agree on a deal. The White Sox were asking for Pitcher Martin Perez, Pitcher Luke Jackson and Infielder Rougned Odor – the Rangers were not interested in parting with those players for Rios.
Ya. It appears unlikely but **** em. If you don't wana give up something halfway decent then you're not getting him.

MLB source said White Sox did not ask for Profar for Rios. Very adamant about denial.

White Sox are not getting Perez, Jackson or Odor for Rios but if price drops to Nick Martinez it could get done...tick tick tick tock
