Needs to be spent wisely however.

The bullpen outside of Jones & Reed, really needs to be addressed.

WTF? Were we really just talking about netting Jurickson Profar for Rios? :lmao:

That said, Rios needed to go.

well he is 22. cant hit big league pitching yet. havent checked rankings

I have the 2013 Baseball America Prospect Handbook. Coming into year, he was ranked 20th in Texas's farm system. Borderline 80 speed on the 20-to-80 scouting scale, best infield arm in Texas's farm and a flashy glove. Apparently "the hitter he should be is not the hitter he wants to be", as he has kinda refused to bunt and play small ball from time to time.

profar has lost a lot of value. potential is to be an avg mlb player...nothing more.

I am impressed that Hahn got anything while freein up all the payroll. Sox are about to pay the shit out of next year's first overall pick.

Rangers wouldn't part with Profar to land Garza, I don't think they would have for Rios.

Good salary dump for the White Sox. Will be interesting to see how they spend that money now

You are exaggerating how much value he has lost. And we are still talking about Alex Rios here.

I'm ok with the trade. Kid is a great fielder and just need to work with him about his approach at the plate

right...a guy who if was on the cubs you would want profar, plus 3 mid level spects and another major league ready arm. no exaggerating...the quote is "profar will be an avg player in the bigs" that says a lot in regards to his value

Not that anyone cares about Texas, but AJ & him are hitting back to back.

Rios tweeted earlier today that he loves the energy in Texas. Not surprising since there is probably no energy with the White Sox right now.

Profar for Rios is ridiculous. Even if Profar hasn't performed like he was expecting to, Texas still considers him one of their top prospects. Rios for half of a season isn't close to what the Rangers value Profar at.

Anyway...I'm pretty happy with what the White Sox got for Rios. Pretty much needed to dump the salary and that's what they did. Got some talent in return and don't pick up a big check.
