This just in. We have Bernstein's replacement! Heard he has really thick skin between his ears and LOTS of scoops.

Good riddance.

I would imagine if you're a smug know-it-all then you'd be upset about not being able to listen to your kind on the Score anymore.

Yeah, he sounds like a total douche.

For me, I'd rather stick a fork in both eyes than listen to men on the radio share their opinions on sports.

Both eyes. In stabbing motions.

Bernstein is a conundrum wrapped in an enigma. He was definitely the most knowledgeable and analytical host (at least when I listened to sports radio in my 20’s) but he combined that with being a very unpleasant person.

There’s a certain point where the unpleasantness and outside drama outweighs the knowledge and tenure. I guess we found out what that point was.

Holmes is a starfucking loser who will just about faint when he gets any physical proximity to any pro athlete or coach. Seriously the biggest eff eyy double-g oh tee to ever grace their airwaves.

Spiegel, Harris and Rahimi are all literal out-of-towners. Not even Chicagoans. Mulligan belongs in memory care and Haugh has the personality of a wood plank. The station is dead without Dan.
You sum it up all so well. Not having a home grown radio talent is not a good look for the second city's largest sports talk station.

Do you even listen to sports talk radio? That's essentially the entire point of being a sports talk radio personality. Having an opinion being arrogant about it to the point that a guy wants to argue about in his car while driving to work.

It's an art form to keep people listening day after day. Dan toed that line better than anyone else on the air and if you listened to any of his cohosts talk about him you'd realize he's also a fantastic gentleman who cares deeply about the city and is very empathetic towards people.

I liked him for the amusing non sports interest stories I'd hear driving into my late morning start at work. Dude has big brane and the wiring, while not perfect, could be very entertaining. Some didn't like the fact that he's aware of that. His job is to be entertaining, interesting and judiciously controversial. As long as their sport takes aren't mostly bad, they good.

I'm sorry to see him go but that tweet was a step to far. Could have used a thicker skin and probably will have that in the future.

Dan is a washed up has been, a shell of his former self. He got comfortable and his Shtick never evolved.

There are hosts in other cities that do exactly what he does onna much higher level. Philly, New York and Boston just to name a few.

So currently two CCS members are trolling a children’s cancer charity on X because they are upset over Bernstein’s firing.
