I actually don't know how keen Friedman is in leaving Tampa Bay when his core is still intact and they can still be competitive. Never hurts to explore one's options though.

I thought I remember reading that Houston would be the only team Friedman would leave for. It would make sense since he is from Houston originally.

The Houston connection is pretty much the only bargaining chip the Astros have. They're even more fucked than the Cubs are right now, although they have less in the way of guaranteed salary to worry about. If Friedman wants to go there, he has pretty much a clean slate to work with plus the #1 pick in the draft.
