The thing is that if Danks had shoulder problems, that probably affects how he has been pitching. Has Quintana been good? Yes. Is he better than our ace? No.

We really need him right now, but I don't want him rushed. If the injury is a reason that he wasn't pitching very well then he should make sure that the arm is completely okay.

The Sox don't need an average Danks back. They need a good Danks back.

John Danks (shoulder) allowed three runs (one earned) over four innings Tuesday in a rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte.

Danks gave up four hits and a walk while throwing just 34 out of 61 pitches for strikes. The White Sox haven't made a decision on where his next start will be, but it sounds like another rehab outing could be in order. The veteran southpaw has been sidelined since May 19 due to left shoulder soreness.

Not happy about the 27 of 51 pitches being balls. Not great control showed there. I say that he needs at least another rehab start. Get a higher pitch count and maybe see if he can throw more strikes.
