And to think, this happened on a play where they only had to squat on the ball.

Things keep getting a little easier in the division with some big names going down. Hutchinson and now Darrisaw.

Maybe Oconnell got advice from Bowles on how to keep trying no matter what.....unless its a one score game in the playoffs; then by all means don't use your timeouts and let the game end vs a chance to get the ball again.

Is that how he got hurt? I didn’t see the game.

Yep. I see that Nelly beat me to it. Even the announcers were calling for taking a knee but the Vikings ran the ball instead backed up in their own end zone, with little time remaining, and no timeouts.

I could only imagine the amount of shit Flus would be getting right now if that happened to the Bears.

He's their 2nd most valuable player on the team. Sucks for them as that means open hunting season on Sam Darnold. That man had among the highest time in the pocket in the league, basically owed to Darrisaw.

Ds are going to eat.

The Vikings were just running out the clock. They ran behind Darrisaw and a defender rolled up on his leg from behind. All they needed to do is kneel on the ball.
Very similar to the Chris Godwin injury, the Bucs had no chance to win that game in garbage time, and he gets injured for the year.

Not that I, or really anyone should, put stock in the opinions of the television "experts," but I don't think there were a lot of people who were really high on the Vikings.

They were going to come back down to earth with Darnold and defenses that really on heavy blitz game plans always get exposed as the year goes on.

I think the Godwin situation was different. They were down 10 with like 4 or 5 minutes left I believe. So while unlikely, it was a situation I think most coaches still would've had the starters in.

Vikings had, what, like 40 seconds from the 5 yard line? No reason to not kneel it.

I'm very excited for the Bears to play them.

Caleb has been good against the blitz, and that game will show a ton of growth for him.
