Along with Sappelt. No Cardenas. That is my guess.

^Muskat already reported Cardenas recalled, so I'd say you're right

In case you're wondering about the 2012 Cubs, it looks like the 25-man roster tonight will include Casey Coleman, Welington Castillo and Adrian Gonzalez in the roles that were filled by Paul Maholm, Geovany Soto and Reed Johnson before Monday night's two trades.

UMMM WHAT?!

Ok, so we trade a 4th OF... and we recall a utility IF? Where does this make sense? Unless Mather now becomes the utility OF with Campana taking over as the 4th OF.

Cardenas can play the corner OF spots some as well. Mather being the fifth OF probably makes some sense as well.

Sappelt appears to be the call up as well. Don't know what that means for the roster.

Brett Jackson call-up will be considered, Sveum says. But "he has to play everyday." Odd man out would be LaHair?

LaHair is what he is. I'm hoping for some mechanical adjustments that might get him back to the Matt Stairs level, but that isn't likely. It would certainly improve the defense in the OF to bring Jackson to play CF and move DeJesus back to RF. Still I think Vitters and Jackson are September call ups at this point.

Alberto Cabrera has been called up, and he has a nice arm for the backend of the bullpen. He can hit upper 90s with some nice movement and control. Everything else isn't that great, but his fastball is probably the best of anyone currently throwing in the system.

RT @CarrieMuskat: With 60 Gs to go, Sveum will meet with brass Thu to discuss roster. B Jackson could be called up. #Cubs

BJax is the better option to LaHair going forward. The question is could Brett Jackson improve more staying in Iowa then in Chicago. I don't know the answer to the question and I trust the guys that have developed a number of impact position prospects to make that call.

LaHair never really adjusted to counter how he was being pitched..

Far as I'm concerned the experiment is over. Jackson needs to be called up.. Let him play each day.

Same with Vitters, Valbuena is struggling and is defintley not the future.
