Clearly is overpaid for his production, and in a league with a hard salary cap that is big negative. Doesn't change the fact that he is productive player and the skills he brought will be missed on the blue line. That said if the Hawks can dump his salary then the Bowman brain trust has a lot more flexibilty to make this roster better.

Stan Bowman is a fucking idiot. All he is, is a puppet for his father. Scotty is the shot caller not stan.

BC reportedly decline to waive NTC a few days ago because of the team, not because he wants to stay in Chi. But that very well could be reason too.

Per @ Aportzline the Blue Jackets have not, as of now, made a trade for Campbell. There are other teams in mix.

Pick a team Soupy & leave.

Hence why I didn't put GM Bowman. As long as daddy is around, I am more than fine with the GM title going to Stan.

I also agree that Dale Tallon built the team that won the Stanley Cup. Dale Tallon was great at recognizing hockey talent and built a very deep and talented team. Certainly one of the best teams that I ever got to watch, and made it so that now only one of my favorite franchises has the longest championship drought in its sport. However, Dale Tallon did hand out a lot of bad paper in his day (Adrian Aucion, Brian Campbell, Cristobal Huet). And while he won us a championship, he also created the salary cap mess that lead to last season.

Does anyone know what clubs are on Campbell's NTC? I keep hearing that it is limited and I was just curious which teams he can block. Apparently, Columbus but it seems like the Jackets are quick to deny any interest as well.

No way that would be released. He can block all but 8. BC submits a list to the GM team.

Yeah I thought it might not be available, but figured I would ask. Anyways seems like there is finally a market for Campbell, and it would be great to get that contract off the books since his skill set is so similar to a few Hawks defenseman that are either better or cheaper.

#Canucks GM Gillis confirmed a trade "discussion" with Blackhawks GM Bowman but nothing came of it.

Exactly my thoughts, moving Soupy would be so much better than moving Hammer. That would leave us five defenseman of Keith, Seabrook, Hammer, Campoli, and Leddy. Save 5 million in cap space to go out and land a couple of players or perhaps one impact guy.
