Not as a player but.................as a Coach??

Not that anyone cares or anything about this but Steve Clifford a guy who joined the Lakers coaching staff was a potential replacement for Rick Brunson(who accepted a job with the Bobcats) but now it seems that the ever so popular and proclaimed "White Mamba" will keep his residence in the Windy City. He is certainly no stranger to Thibodeau's schemes and philosophies since their days together in Boston.

Pretty cool if you ask me.

This was expected. It was just unknown if it was going to happen this season or next.

Good God! Thank you for not letting this man waste a spot & salary on anyone's roster.

Anyway, it was about time he moved on to what he wanted to do.

You mean after BJ? Because they have been suiting up BJ, and gradually moving him up and into new positions every few years.

Better than having him sit at the end of the bench not playing.

Uh BJ Armstrong is Rose's agent and nothing more.

I doubt it. He was the head of new media for the organization and has been an off-and-on executive for the team for a while. It's possible that he left to become an agent, but BJ is never far away.

Later endeavors
Armstrong stepped into Chicago's front office as a special assistant to Vice President of Basketball Operations Jerry Krause. Having replaced Paxson as the Bulls' starting point guard years before, Armstrong was himself replaced by Paxson as hire to the GM job in Chicago when Krause resigned in 2003. Armstrong remained with the organization as a scout for a couple of seasons, leaving in 2005.

He was employed by ESPN as a basketball analyst in recent years for the 'NBA Fast Break' television series. Since 2006 he has also been employed by Wasserman Media Group, a sports marketing and representation group out of Los Angeles, California representing professional athletes and other entertainers.

He currently serves as an agent for Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose, who was the first player selected in the 2008 NBA Draft.

I'm pretty sure the NBA has rules against a guy being an agent and part of an organization. Not saying the Bulls wouldn't bring back BJ in a second, but he hasn't worked for them in any capacity since 2005.

Right, he can't be an agent and work for the organization at the same time. You're making an argument to something I did not say. Also, the wiki doesn't talk about BJ in other positions for the team since 2005 and when Rose picked him as a rep. He also has political ties ect. He has been a candidate for GM-in-grooming for some time.

Guess your original statement to me made it sound like he currently still had a title with the team. Also what positions did he have after 2005, because he was an ESPN analyst then went to Wasserman. So any ties to the Bulls would have been in an unofficial capacity. I agree he is a GM-in-grooming if he wishes to stop representing Derrick Rose at some point to take the position. I'm sure he hangs around the organization plenty, but I guess my point is he hasn't officially worked for them since 2005.

He was in charge of the teams new media project after that. I don't remember every date and detail, but this wasn't that long ago. He setup the staff behind the sites, the bulls tv, the social media. I have no idea if the same staffers are there now doing that stuff or not. But because BJ had all of the info, and he was trusted with the organization, he got all kinds of stuff going that wasn't there before. I think he even gets players twitter verified, as some kind of special user on twitter(not that this is significant, just the stuff I remember from interviews and reading.)

I was trying to find the article on him from a few years ago, but I can't.

Yeah, I looked too, but I'm also working at the moment. Not trying to debate, I just think Jerry has BJ on speed-dial if Gar doesn't pan out.
