What loyalty do we owe Briggs? He was a good/great player for several years next to Urlacher. He collected his checks, now it's time to move on.

While that is a sickening trait that Bears fans have, it doesn't apply here. This guy has been going through the motions and collecting a check for going on two seasons (and may have been fooling us before that and trying to get by on what was left of his talent). This resentment has been building for awhile; if you think this event is the only reason why people want to get rid of him, you don't follow the team or fans very closely.

I don't get the story here, we have known for close to a decade that Briggs wasn't the most dedicated teammate(off the field , etc). but he was good and showed up on the field. That's the ony difference now that his play is declining.

Instead of discipling him, Trestman should motivate him.

Have some BBQ RIBS cooking on the sidelines and for every tackle he gets 1 rib. An interception, sack or forced fumble gets him a slab. A return touchdown he gets all he can eat.

That's why I don't understand why everyone is up in arms. Briggs has never really seemed to care, at least from the outside looking in. He has never been a team leader and I for one didn't expect him to become one after urlacher, his d coordinator and lovie left.

I personally respect him for being honest but something's are better left unsaid at least until he is done with the franchise or game all together. If anything wrote his way out of the bears organization and he hurt his chances of any other team picking him up.
