No doubt. I'm not a fan of Joe Johnson either. He wants a max contract this offseason and he'll be 29 in June. I wouldn't sign him as our big prize this offseason to a max deal but if we can bring another big FA in with him I'd do it. But anyone that signs Joe Johnson outright to a max deal and expects him to live up to that deal is crazy. That contract will be an absolute albatross in a few years and unlike in MLB, you can't afford to have terrible contracts in the NBA.

I'm just worried that the Bulls are going to panic this offseason when they see FA's staying and overpay for players. This organization has screwed up many times this past decade so my confidence going into this offseason is low.

Me too. It would be hilarious if they completely strike out in free agency, AND they lose David Lee. Walsh won't even have Isiah to blame. He's unloaded all those horrible contracts he signed

I'm beginning to get vibes that this offseason will be one of our worst offseasons ever. Bosh is going to head to LA or Houston in a sign and trade. Amare is heading to Miami. Wade is staying in Miami. LeBron stays in Cleveland. And the Bulls overpay for some terrible player which makes them a little better but in reality it will screw them in the future. If this happens, expect Rose to leave this team when his contract is up to a winner.

Joe Johnson is not overrated because he's gonna get paid more than he deserves. He's just gonna be overvalued and overpaid. So many teams have dumped massive cap(immature moment. sounds like dumped massive crap) that there will be a lot of FAs being overpaid because some teams will be disappointed because they did not land a top FA.
David Lee is overrated.
This could very well be a disappointing off-season. If we dont get Wade, James or Bosh, it will suck because those are three guys that can catapult your team to the top 3 of the East. Boozer, Amare and Johnson are that next level of players who will all improve your team but wont get you into legit title contention. But they all will come at a somewhat cheaper price than the big 3 and if you sign one of them, you will most likely have a deeper bench which really counts in the NBA.
All in all, this Chicago Bulls team is too attractive to not pick up any of the players mentioned above. The big three will be the first ones to sign their contracts. Believe the Bulls will get desperate and throw big money at the second tier players if they dont land the big 3. We will be a much better team next year than we were this year. I truly believe that.

I want to know how the Bulls are planning on landing Bosh. Bosh wants a sign and trade and the Bulls can't beat the Rockets in that. The Rockets have guys like Kevin Martin and the Knicks 1st round picks for the next 3 years to offer up. We have Luol Deng's awful contract.
