Levine has NEVER said Cubs are going to go after Kerry Wood. He keeps saying, they MAY be interested or there is a CHANCE. Of course they MAY be interested. Even the freaking Pittsburgh Pirates may be interested. Muskat is right here, she knows the Cubs won't even bother making a call.
As for the chat, the only shady thing i've seen is this- he says several times Adam Dunn is Cubs #1 priority, but then, somebody asks if Cubs would have interest in signing Paul Konerko? Levine replies: "I don't know if the Cubs will have enough money to sign any free agent."
What the hell? But, you ARE sure they will go after Dunn with a truck load of money?
Maybe it's just me, but that makes zero sense.
