Good take on Boston fans:

We have a few fans like that here, every city has their meatballs.

What's mildly amusing is hearing Bostonians pronounce the word hockey...Hawkey.:D

If you want a good take on the lowest layer of meatball Boston fans... Look up the reaction of Joel Ward's series winning goal last year.

I enjoy the Boston area and people out there, but it can degenerate anywhere.

Losing Horton is more problematic than dropping game 1 on the road.

I think so, too. If he's done, it's trouble. He had the highest +/- of any player in the post-season...which isn't an end-all, be-all...but regardless, it's a bad injury.

I remember these conversations back when the Hawks played the Flyers. People thought that would be a tough series and it actually turned out to be pretty easy. And this Hawks team is just as good as that team.
Weren't people saying that in Pittsburgh too?

Depth is the key, imo, and losing Horton is big. Game 1 being the 5th longest in history should be an omen that this series is going to rock! What worries me in getting tired.

Yeah, if that top line for Boston has been, probably, the single best line in the postseason. Seguin jumping up to that line doesn't take away much talent but Seguin has been noticeably absent this postseason. Horton was just as on fire as his two linemates were.

JiminyChristmas, Flyers/Hawks was far from "pretty easy".

Philly gave the Hawks all they could handle.

While it was only 6 games, it was a war to the end.

Just stumbled upon this as well:

"The loss of Horton would be a significant blow to the Bruins. Skating on the top-line with David Krejci and Milan Lucic, Horton has registered 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) in 17 postseason games. With Gregory Campbell already out of the lineup for the remainder of the year, the Bruins could be forced to dress another scratch in the event Horton is unable to play in Saturday night's Game 2."

Losing Horton absolutely sucks. Just in the game alone the bruins being 1 short on the bench I think really had an impact. Not sure if Julien is just blowing smoke but saw that he said Horton is considered day to day. Maybe bruins caught a break having 2 days off.
The bruins found a way in '11 to rally behind the Horton injury, though to be honest that was a blindside dirty hit imo. Think it will be much tougher. Also makes me wonder who they bring in to replace. Soderberg? But the guys only got like 6 games NHL experience and didnt look to be comfortable yet with the difference from european rinks. Maybe Caron? Idk

Do they do things any other way in Vancouver? I do take solace in the fact that the Canuckleheads are probably super pissed that the thing that they love and crave the most(Stanley Cup), is something that is painful for them to watch because it features the two teams that they hate the most.

So to the Sedin sisters, Girlieman Burrows, crybaby Luongo, their other assorted assholes and the sorry excuse for a fanbase in Vancouver.....those of us in Boston and Chicago have two words for ya.

Flyers played hard. However there wasn't one point during the Cup that I felt the Hawks weren't in control.

If game 2 is half as exciting as game 1 I'll be pleased.

Agreed, despite the revisionist history offered by some other posters, I recall being hugely relieved we weren't going to a game 7.

You guys thoroughly outplayed the Hawks and still lost. That's not a good omen. Hawks won't play that bad again.

Meh, the Hawks got more shots on goal. May have been ugly, but it was effective.

Corey Crawford (our goalie) was an octopus in OT... but that still didn't stop me from having four minor heart attacks.

Here's to no more triple OTs.
