There's a little "DONATE" button located in multiple places on the site you could click and help Tony out... maybe then we'd get a better server?
Some of us have done that.

I would gladly do so again if that is what is needed.

Ton?
I will too... but if even 50 of the members donated 5 bucks each minimum I think that's enough to get the ball rolling.

Doesn't matter if the server is the best in the world if the network connection into it is dial up.

If it was just a matter of money, I'm sure he would have mentioned something by now, even inadvertently. Like, if I could just buy this or that we'd be set. And then people would have surely all kicked in by now. Something tells me that's not the case.

I'm trying to work things out with the current host. If things aren't looking good, I will be asking for a refund for the rest of my contract so we can move elsewhere, we'll see what they give me and I'll put it towards a new server IF that is the last resort. We are coming up with a solution right now.

If we do move hosts, there should be no problem transferring all the data, I already have one in mind that we will move to either way after this contract is up (07-06-2011). But if we can avoid it for now, then that would be the best solution for the time being.

There is, but it costs money, and at this point... the host doesn't deserve to be paid HARD EARNED money. Either they fix it or we move.

Of course, the point is, I'm not dumping anymore money into our host... I'd rather get a refund and transfer to a faster server and instead of paying for the upgrade, I'd pay for a better host.

I wonder if we could figure out a way to do an IHN fundraiser somehow... not really a charity I know, but I bet we have enough creative people around here to think of something. Could tie it into a charity, 50/50 split or something maybe? As well as use it to draw attention to people to bring them to our site? Don't know, just word vomit now...

Very very slow again... and here's something interesting. At the top of my window it says

"Logout [MassHavoc]"

at the bottom of the page it says

"Logout [ acco-redtribe ]"

on the main site it says masshavoc both places, when logged into the forum it says that... not sure if it means wires are crossed somewhere, but i've logged out and logged in, reset, everything, still the same.
I'm sure it varries from person to person, but this board is almost unusable for me right now. 30 sec to minute wait every time I click something.
Same here, takes about 30 seconds for the page to load.

Terribly slow.

Yea but I would assume most of us are using Cable, T1, ect ect.

It has been brutal all day. There is no excuse for this type of performance from the provider. I have cable here and it wouldn't do shit this morning. I am on a direct t3 at work and no change. In fact at work I ended up getting error pages.

Something has to be done. Right now it's as fast for me as it's been all day.

I was factiously referring to the server's connection.

Today it seems to be a lot quicker but still is kinda slow but it is an acceptable slow. Also could be my work network, it hasn't exactly been speedy today. I say ***** at the server guys anyway, make'em sweat.

It's been pretty slow all morning but 10 minutes ago it started really flying. I hope they fixed it permanently.

Negotiating with our host right now after getting heated with them. I asked to move to a separate server if we can get a discount, if not we are moving to somewhere else. Extra $2 a month with the upgrade as of now.
