Building My Player: NBA 2K

lol, I was drafted by Utah...as a PG...of course, the best player on the team was also a PG...so I req'd a trade to either miami, orlando or NY...

Me too actually. Except I requested Chicago, LAL, and some other random place that needed a PG (NY maybe?). 2k cheesed me even after the post patch "fix" and they traded me to Chicago with Devin Harris for Noah and Taj.

Won the Finals anyway, but having Boozer and Asik as a starting frontcourt in 2k?

And they wouldn't fing trade Harris even though he was demanding a trade all season long (actually so was Rose). I just can't seem to get rid of that bugger...:fist:


At least he only plays like 5 minutes a game (the minutes I don't play).

but at this point, my dude is 99 and i can basically get alot of my scoring off steals(i get like 8 a game...so easy to steal)

Yeah, i'm avg'g about 6 steals/game...and my steal rating isn't terribly high. just sit back a tad and bait the pass....

So, my My Player won't dunk an alley-oop for the life of him. always lay-ups. What increases this? My Vert, Dunk, Strength are all good. Would standing dunk increase it? No idea what mine is, haven't devoted many points to it.

I have no idea. I play on PC, so I can edit all of that straight out of the box(and even more with a little hacking/modding).

Except the audio(on 2k). Hackers have figured out how to edit every aspect of the game, but not the audio. Low priority, yes, but it's something you can't currently edit. And I was frustrated by the lack of audio editing, because I wanted to put Stacey King in as a commentator for fun.

Really? I'm kinda surprised honestly. Does that include music too? I guess I can understand commentary because that's pretty integrated in the software of the game. That would require a TON of editing to get something like Stacey King commentary in there. Would be awesome though.

If the tools were available, the commentary would be easy. The hard part would be editing bytes from actual games, because the sound overlaps the crowd.

As for the music. You can add music, but you can't replace music, just like on the console. Which is a mega bummer, because I saw that Jay-Z playlist, and I'm not happy. It looks like if I want music, I'll just have to mute it, and load a media player in the background.

lol well obviously if you had the tools it would be easy. The fact that there aren't tools indicates that it's difficult to hack into that part of the game.

And I would love to add Roundball Rock to every basketball game I play. If nothing else, I'd love to replace the loading screen music with that...much more enjoyable.

haha, It took me half the season to build my myplayer up, but now that I've extended the quarter length to 10 min, triple doubles aren't terribly difficult. i've been a rebound away from a quad-double on 3 occasions. so damn frustrating.

I think my biggest win was that I became the MVP one season and then won MVP again plus the MIP the next season. Almost scary!
