If this is true, wouldn't he accept it by now. Because, I think that's one hell of an offer for him.

Or

The Bulls pulled the offer in preparation of a trade.

Its either the Bulls pulled it because they want to trade Noah now or Noah changed his mind and knows he might be traded and didnt want to sign that kind of deal and end up being in Denver that long lol

seems like the fairly expected amount. I'd be very interested in seeing what the first couple years of that deal look like.

Thats a bit high. I'd have offered 10 Mill a season max. The new cba won't be very kind and the guy hasn't put together a full season. I like him but thats a lot of $$$$$$.

Regarding this trade: I will drive Noah to Denver personally if it means the Bulls can get Carmelo. Provided of course he signs an extension.

5yr/60mil ...de-zam! That's a lot. I all of a sudden am very interested in seeing how these Melo talks go over even more now that we know what Noah was/is offered.

Or perhaps the Bulls submitted it, then pulled it, in hopes that other teams would consider him that valuable...?

12M a year isn't that much, in all honesty. He's a young C who is going to average at least 10 and 10 with a lot of other things thrown into that equation.

Erick Dampier made 12.5 million last year...And is Dampier the player Noah is?

Dude, you can't use a proven shitty contract as justification for why Joakim deserves this deal. We gave Ben Wallace 4 years $60 million and Noah is better, does that mean we should give Noah a max deal? $12 million per year is RIDICULOUS for a player who has played well for one year, averaging the numbers he had and missed 10+ games due to injury. I promise you that if Joakim gets that contract, ALL OF YOU will be on these boards in 2 years talking about him like he's Luol Deng. Noah is not a restricted free agent. The purpose of an extention is the player is supposed to give up a little for the benefit of long term security. Even if Noah was restricted, with sum of money is insane for a player who sucked for 2 years and had injuries in his good year (year 3). I personally do not think Noah is worth a dime over $8 million until he playes a full season with continued improved play. So so so so so many big guys have a breakout year, get locked up and suck after that. Keep in mind, Noah can't score, was injured for a quarter of last season and is not an all-star (not yet). I would be much more in favor of offering him a $8-9 million deal now and if he rejects it, wait a year and see what happens. If he blows up and we loose out on $3 extra million a year cause he's a near max guy, fine...at least your buying a proven asset. Plus next season he's a restricted free agent, so it's not like we would loose him than either. If Noah is looking for $12 million per, now, I am 100% in favor of including him in a deal for Melo now...no question.

yeah, this seems like a terrible contract. noah is good, but he's not other worldly good. If the cba makes the cap take the hit that it everyone's projecting, this might be a max contract. Do you guys really think noah is a max player?

cause he's good but not dwight howard.

I think its more of the Bulls offered Noah 12 million per year than Noah making that demand. But either way...I myself am in favor of the Bulls waiting another year before giving Noah a new contract. We all saw what happened with the Bulls make Hinrich an extension, and then signing Deng to that contract. Hinrich atleast had put in 3 good years somewhat earning that contract. Deng came off an terrible year and was still given alot of money.

12 million is a not a max contract...And if a new CBA makes it a max contract..that is the new CBA rules then..and my guess is old rules will still apply to contracts signed before the new CBA...Of course being on the topic of the CBA..i dont see one being done this year and I see a lockout NHL style next season canceling the whole season.
