Interesting that we were looking at this prior to Boozer injury.

Guess the organization has NO faith in Asik

Or the more likely answer, they were looking at back up plans in case of an injury or Asik shows he's not ready. Always, always have a contingency plan.

I just think that if Noah goes down for some reason,I can understand why the Bulls wouldnt maybe want Asik to be the new starter since he still needs to practice his game and improve. Overall Dampier would be a good back up.

True, but obviously no one is knocking down the door to sign Dampier as a starter...especially when the only other team interested seems to be Dallas, who has a million 7 footers. Damps needs to realize he's a back-up and will get paid accordingly...and his best shot for playing time is probably in Chicago, especially w/ the Boozer injury. Sign a one year deal, play big those first 5 weeks of the season, get good minutes the rest of the season, you may be in line for a bigger pay-check next off-season.

Dampier > Chris Richards. You're an idiot if you think otherwise.

Damp gives us some expirenced size downlow. I am all for it, he will be useful against the guys who push Noah around. This will help against Boston and Orlando, the teams we likely meet in the second round.

Omer Asik doesn't look like he's ready to play this year. And Scalabrine is a terrible option to give C minute hand-outs...

Kurt Thomas is the Bulls' 2nd best option at center (with or without Dampier). But, let's just admit it to ourselves... we could use the extra depth.

At this point Dampier is a great option for the month of November. What happens when Boozer comes back? Someone will get buried in the depth charts and they probably wont like it. But lets only care about the right now...sign Dampier.
