Bulls scheduled for 29 national TV games - Chicago Bulls Blog - ESPN Chicago

CHICAGO -- Assuming the NBA season starts on time -- and as we all know that is a gigantic assumption given the uncertainty regarding the NBA lockout -- the Chicago Bulls will embark on their most star-studded schedule since the Jordan era.

Led by Derrick Rose, the Bulls will be featured on national television 29 times and will play in some of the most highly anticipated games of the season.

Let's take a quick look at 10 of the most interesting games on the schedule:

Nov. 1 at Dallas: The Mavericks will be raising their championship banner, and there is no doubt Mark Cuban and company will have the American Airlines Center rocking. Rose will be excited for a matchup that will mark his first regular season game as the league's reigning MVP.

Nov. 10 vs. Oklahoma City: This will be the Bulls' third home game, and it should be one of the most entertaining of the season. Any time Rose is on the floor with Thunder stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, it's worth the price of admission.

Nov. 25 at Indiana: The Bulls' first matchup against Danny Granger and the Pacers comes near the end of a two-week, eight-game, road trip. Just like last year's Eastern Conference quarterfinals, there is no doubt the games against Indiana will be physical.

Dec. 25 at Lakers: How do you know when you've returned as one of the league's marquee franchises? You play in the showcase game on Christmas day against the Lakers.

Jan. 1 vs. Memphis: Two of the league's youngest and most entertaining teams face off on New Year's Day. Rose recorded his first triple double last season against the Grizzlies.

Jan. 19 at Miami : A rematch of the Eastern Conference finals. One of the quirkiest parts of the schedule is that the Bulls play the Heat just ten days later in Miami.

Feb. 12 at Boston: Joakim Noah and Kevin Garnett renew their rivalry as the Bulls try to figure out a way to beat this veteran-laden team in the Garden ... something they could not do last season.

Feb. 22 vs. Orlando: Dwight Howard and the Magic come to town for the final game before the All-Star break. Will Bulls fans cheer Howard's every move, hoping he ends up in Chicago? Rose won't care, he went off for 42 against the Spurs in the final game before the break last season.

March 12 vs. New York: Carmelo Anthony makes his first United Center appearance as a Knick in what will surely be a high-scoring affair.

April 12 vs. Miami: With just five games remaining in the regular season, there is a very good chance this game could help determine No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

(Assuming the season starts, which I seriously doubt) I can't wait for that game against the Knicks. That's gonna be one hell of a rivalry for years to come.

If some miracle is worked out, and the season is played.....

I don't care, as long as I can get a local broadcast. I would rather listen to Stacey King and even Neil Funk, over anyone really.

Tell me about it.

I hate those national broadcasts, they always overrate the other team.

I can listen to them for half of the season, but I like to hear a broader perspective. Neil and Stacey are homers. As was Dore and Kerr before them. My thing is to hear different points of views on the teams. I guess that is why I enjoy the NFL, you get 4,5,6+ broadcast teams on television when watching the games. Just makes it more interesting...but that is just me...I was like that during the Jordan era too...

You can't blame for Neil and Stacey being homers. In fact, you should probably expect it. It's all fine and good getting other people's opinions of the Bulls (though some commentators are a little over the top sometimes imo), but being a Bulls fan, I'll take the biased Bulls commentary myself. :elephant:

This. If I wanted to have boring national broadcasts, I'd watch cubs games.

I never watch the national broadcast, if I can help it. If I have no choice then I suffer through them not having any knowledge about the Bulls.

I like Stacey King and Neil. Stacey always gives me a good laugh with insightful knowledge all in the same game. I can't stand ESPN's broadcast, Jeff Van Gundy is completely annoying to me and ESPN just goes with the most popular teams and hypes them up. TNT on the other hand actually is unbiased to me and they actually know the game of basketball.

No, ESPN is the be all, end all of basketball knowledge JVG is the best announcer there is.

We know we're all going to miss Mark "Hand down, man down!!!" Jackson.
