I really hope the team can get rid of Hamilton. He handicapped them last year and will probably miss 3/4 of the season again.

How can someone handicap a team to the best record?

He came in, got injured and then came back and played his role. Rip was not the issue last year. He was the supposed to be the missing piece not the guy who lead us to the promise land.

This is just another move to save money. Unless we replace Rip with Mayo, i'd rather keep him, he can move the ball well and work his way off screens.

awesome. Blow the team up so we can resign a C w/ no hands who avgs 3 points a game.

BUT THE DEFENSE!!!!!!!! HE'S THE BEST WHITE DEFENSIVE BACKUP TURKISH CENTER IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE!!!

ugh.

Better than an old G w/ no face, hands, knees, shoulder, life, ect.

And I'm sure if true, this would be to free up space to get a real SG.

Who am I kidding, this is PaxGar. It won't happen.

Remember a year ago how amazing everyone thought the RIP signing was?

But...he brings the rings.

Ahhhhh, remembering the good times. When nobody would heed my warning.

The Bulls also had the best record in the league the season before Hamilton came. He did not come into the season injured. He got injured in the third game, came back before he was ready and further injured himself just to play a meaningless game against Detroit.

If it gets us a shot at Mayo, I'd say it's worth it. Yeah we'd have 4 C level players, but then we can attempt to take a couple of them and upgrade to a B or maybe A- level player. :dunno:

I wrote an article two years ago titled "Reasons the Bulls should NOT trade for Rip Hamilton or J.R. Smith."

Luckily, we got Rip for half-way cheap and didn't lose anything else tangible in the process. I wouldn't mind keeping him aboard but I wouldn't mind trading him for a pick or a couple of fillers either.

Again, if they maintained the best record in the league, how exactly did Rip handicap them? With all of the injuries to Rose, Rip and Deng, still maintaining the best record, would indicate he didn't handicap them.

Your arguing semantics, he got injured early, missed a lot of time and came back and played a role. He didn't force the issue and played within the offense.

So did Rose and it was all because of the shortened NBA season.

It should have only been a 1 Year Deal With Rip to begin with :smh:

WHY ARE THE BULLS ALWAYS OVERPAYING FOR PLAYERS!?!? As much as I like OJ Mayo, I don't think OJ is a STAR, his numbers been declining since his rookie year, I do hope they get him but please don't OVERPAY HIM

We are about to OVERPAY ASIK then a year or so we will try to move him and nobody will want him because of his contract

He handicapped the by his selfish decision to play in Detroit early on in the year. The team maintained the best record because they were good enough to do it without him. But they never knew how good they were with him healthy. Had he properly rested his hamstring injury it wouldn't have lingered. I'm not arguing sematics, it's just a simple fact that you and I do not agree.

We knew what the team was with a healthy Rose and a seemingly healthy roster. We never knew with Hamilton. So no Rose did not handicap the team in the way Hamilton did.

So now you are blaming him for errors that the training staff committed? Do you think Rip cleared himself to play? Wouldn't the bulls training staff be responsible from stopping an injured player from playing? Isn't this the same training staff that has had injuries to key players in the past that were made worse by coming back early? I think we all remember the images of Noah in the playoffs barely making it up and down the court, thats the same staff. Thats not a Rip problem, that's a training staff problem.

And if they were good enough to get the best record in the league without him, clearly he didn't handicap them. There is no double or triple best record in the league and that group wasn't going to challenge for 72 wins either. So I clearly don't see the crippling effects on a team with the best record?

I would easily say Rose's injury was much more crippling to the team.

They may be shopping Rip to free up capspace for a shot at Mayo.

I hope Hue is right, because management better have a reason for blowing up the bench other than freeing up capspace just for Asik&Hinrich alone.
HUE may be on to somthing and PaxGar just may have a trick up there sleeve after all.

Mayo would be a good addition to our team and provide scoring a the 2guard spot that has been avoid since B.G Left.

Get it done PaxGar

The team were wondering all season, of how the team will play with a healthy RIP and never came to fruition. Eventually other players got hurt and things eventually went south.

Now, when it comes to a hamstring injury, the player has to to show, and even say, that he is ok. You can make certain moves and even cuts before you are ready. Yes, the training staff is at fault. But when it comes to an injury like the groin, it is also on the particular player as well. The communication between the two has to be there and have honest assessments of how one is feeling. Hamilton wanted to play, which isn't bad, but he came back a little too soon and it showed with one bad move he made later in the game.

My point of him handicapping the team is not because he messed our record up. The team was constantly waiting for him to get healthy, similar to Boozer and Noah the season before, just to see how good the team would be with the full starting lineup. Hamilton had some role in him playing in that Detroit game, but the training staff was also at fault for not looking at the big picture. That is my point.

Unless we can get a real upgrade, and not another "hold us over, and hope for the best" type, I really don't know why it's useful to get rid of Hamilton.

Mayo is worth it, but if it's just for straight cap space, getting rid of the only veteran on this team that actually has court vision, is silly. His contract is up after 12-13.

I really wouldn't call that handicapping the team. But we really only needed Rip for the playoffs and thats where he was.
