Doug, I have an important question for you. If we go into luxury tax territory to sign Gordon, will that keep us from making a trade for Bosh? Or could it possibly make it easier to trade for Bosh, by including Gordon or Hinrich in that trade?

I'm a Gordon fan, but I would rather see him walk if signing him means we don't have a shot at Bosh. Bosh, Rose, Salmons can contend for a title.

Yea your probobly right. Regardless, the contract is small. This is a meaningless signing for now. Pax may want a small bit of insurance in case Ben walks, but this is nothing more then a small piece of mind. He will be lucky to see any playing time, unless the last game or 2 of the season is completely meaningless.

To repeat what I said over at RealGm Home Central:

THIS MOVE IS DICKIE V APPROVED, BABY!

A little video highlight, including, yes, a little Dickie V hype for good measure:

All GM's have people keep a eye on the D league you get lucky sometimes. Session was there and I believe Charlie Bell.

He's young and played well in the D league so the Bulls pick him up as a option for next year. He's not going to replace someone but Gordon is a UFA and if he leaves it gives us a cheap back up to play. Also Kirk might be traded in a big deal and he could get in the rotation as the defender off the bench not to mention Lindsay will be gone so we need a cheap guy to replace him.

he might not work out but it's a small chance to take and a cheap contract if we do lose a Guard via free agency or Trade

Not to switch subject but the Bulls better offer Hunter a coaching spot or I will be highly upset. I think he could be good in that dept and has done it for us this yea

He was pretty solid for the Warriors to start the season. Hes a good defender, a really good rebounder and got decent shot. He should be good fourth guard next year since well probably lose Gordon.

I guess a little spark off the bench in case an injury to Gordon or Rose happens.

this is useless, couldnt have Paxson opened his eyes and signed Anthony Morrow a while back before the Warriors did? This signing is useless.

Yea that was him. He made CJ Watson look like Rose.

I'm surprized they signed a smallish SG instead of a guy that can play SF. With Deng out we're very thin at SF. We've got several people who can play each of the guard positions, but only one legit SF in Salmons.

Do the Bulls view Nelson as an answer for our defensive woes? he was ACC Defensive Player of the Year in college. I guess he will be on our summer league team.

We already have one of those, he makes 10 mill per year and is light years ahead of Nelson. Ugh, I can't believe I said kirk was light years ahead of someone.
