Hey let's look at the bright side of things. Korver has the distinction of being one of very few white people to block LeBron. Yes...he actually did.

Assuming we don't sign yet another guard and Orlando doesn't match, it's either him or Korver. Considering how he can actually play defense, I'm guessing he starts. He's about 6'4" so he's an ok height for a SG. Little on the short side, but not like 6'2".

Redick at this point would have to be the starter if we get him. He's not an undersized SG, he's 6'4" without shoes. Doesn't have great standing reach or wingspan though.

I find it funny Bulls fans hate this deal but Magic fans are stressing their management wont pay to keep him.

What irony.

Also...article changed contract value from 20 to 19 million. 1 million less...whoohoo.

7 mill for reddick and 5 mill for kover? I'd rather just have bg for his 12. He actually is a starter in this league. Reddick and kover aren't starters, I'd rather seen us try to get someone in trade rather than lock up that much in shooter that don't do anything else. SG's are gonna destroy those two. We should have at least gotten morrow for 3/12. Chea[er and higher upside.

Agreed. We could have just kept Hinrich/Gordon, still signed Boozer. We wouldn't have Asik, but I would guess he probably busts so I don't really care. It'd be lovely to have that Rose/Hinrich/Gordon backcourt still together, ready to go into its third year together.

Still, as the Bulls are constructed, I think these signings could be the right direction. There are only so many shots to go around. Rose and Boozer are going to be drawing doubles and freeing guys up for shots. It is a good thing to have guys who can knock down the three. Having two elite shooters in Redick/Korver will be big.

This was my point all along...you have two players that can spread the floor and hit open shots for the price of one. I continuously said that for what Gordon would be expected to do for a championship level team, you can get someone to do that for cheaper...hit set shots and open shots. Korver and Redick are amongst the best in the league.

I don't want bg, Korver or Redick starting, they are all better off the bench. Gordon is the best of the three, but that is redundant because what is needed, all 3 can do.

So until they can get a Jason Richardson, O.J. Mayo type...I will settle for this.

I think I'm actually warming to Redick as being a good idea. At first I was "ha, trick so we can get Pietrus when they dump him" but I've talked myself into wanting Redick instead.

For everyone here saying he's not a starter, seems like a lot of Magic fans are hoping that they match and trade Carter instead so he starts. Really if the guy was as marginal as people seem to think you wouldn't have such a strong reaction to wanting to keep him at 7 million. I don't think the contract is a bargain, but it's not outrageous either.

Also he really is an elite shooter. Expand his minutes out to 30 a game and you're getting 150 threes in a year, there's only 12 players in the NBA who made that many last year, and only 4 shot as well as JJ. Given the absolute crap we were from three last year, that would be such a huge upgrade.

I think I'm in the hoping Magic wont match camp. Redick + Korver will immediately fix our three point problem. Heck, if TT can convince Deng to shoot the corner three in any sort of volume, the three might actually become one of our strengths.

+1, I cannot believe people are bashing these deals. We just got two of the best three point shooters in the league! And still have almost 9 million, even after signing Asik, to spend to fill out like two more rotation players.

Sign Brewer or another defending SG, Law and Brad and we are looking really good.

My only beef is that I think Redick is getting overpaid, but at the end of the day, we got shooting and SG's so we got what we needed. Plus, those two are elite shooters and that's great. Our shooting problem is solved. I'd still like to sign a backcourt defensive specialist because saying that our best perimeter defender is Luol Deng or JJ Redick troubles me slightly.

The Magic should be able to match the offer sheet, and then try to save some money by trading Bass to a team with capspace.

Yep, and no shooters available now, going to have to sign Brewer and hope for a miracle growth in Rose & Deng or that we can sort it out later.

Kind of a bummer that the two RFAs we didn't sign (Matthews & Morrow) both were let go and ours was matched, but oh well.

Don't rule out the Bulls trying to make a trade to get a good SG. Rudy Fernandez, Corey Brewer, Nick Young, OJ Mayo come to mind. Its not over!

I think making a deal for Rudy F would be a good. I think him and Brewer will give us everything we need.
