I think I'm just confused as to what people's expectations were for Murphy. He's a 3-pt specialist. Size be damned, he wasn't drafted b/c of his rebounding potential.

I said from the beginning he was bad and would be a laughingstock. He hasn't let me down. He shouldn't have been drafted.

Did you see how depressed Charles was on that bench? Dude looked like he was going to cry. I guess that is not all that matters, yo.

I got sad for him when I saw that Carlos and family came out to support him and he never got off the bench.

idk. 13 min. 66% fg and 3pt, 10 pt, 5 rb, 0 foul. I mean, he's not a world beater, but he can hit shots.

He fought for his first rebound(one that didn't fall into his hands), and dude breaks his face. Do you think if he made the league, and we had a Butler-Deng-Murphy-Noah squad on the floor, would those guys make up for his softness and Murphy would actually put up a positive contribution? I think it's possible, just because we're so desperate for shooting, but he has a long ways to go before he's ready to see the floor IMO.

I agree, he's a LONG way from seeing regular minutes even as a bench specialist, but I believe a stretch 4 is a valuable, situational piece, and he proved in college he can hit shots if his defender gives him space. If the defender doesn't give him space, it opens up the paint. He's never going to be a 20 min/game guy, but he's got a spot if he can shore up some of his deficiencies, imo.

(I hated that Ryan Kelly was drafted just before this pick. He would've been much better suited, imo.)

He just needs to get stronger. Strength is one of the easier tools to add. He is going to have all the opportunity he wants to bulk up. If he does he might be ok. I am not sure it will happen on the Bulls though. 2 year contract does not give him much time.

I think Murphy has tripped and fallen on the ground more times than he has scored. I didn't get to watch the game vs portland but the previous game against the Nuggets all of his shots were literally wide open with no close out or contest. Him being out there is embarrassing. Not going to lie though I had some pretty good laughs from watching the first two games.

Thibs used Deng as a stretch 4 often, so maybe he´ll come back to that as well.

I wonder how a Rose, Butler, Snell, Deng, Noah lineup would do.

Ideally that'd be the best way to counter Miami's small ball lineup. Depends on how Snell turns out though. If he can at least be a knock down shooter while playing decent defense I think that lineup could be pretty good.
