If Deng makes the WIDE open three ...
It's easy to say Brewer should have made the layup from what we can see but at the point he makes the decision he doesn't know Wallace has committed to flying over the top for the block immediately, all he knows is that Wallace is right behind him and is going to go for the block at some point.

I completely agree. Brewer was facing the wrong direction to sense the instant double team. He could have drawn contact, but I think he made the right decision. Deng had a WIDE open 3, as you put it, and easily had the option of an extra pass back to Rose, who would have had an open look as well.
If Brewer goes up, misses the shot, and gets no call.... the Bulls had little opportunity for a second chance basket.
Now.... what really amazes me about this game. I can't remember a game in NBA history, where a player deliberately kicked another player, and they didn't get ejected. Wallace should have been thrown out of the game.
Don't get me wrong, I actually love Gerald's style of play, but that was a punk move on his part.

Also as much as we might want to blame the loss on the last few plays we really lost it on hustle. Sure we defended well enough to keep them to 40% shooting, but they probably shot less than 30% in the half court, the only way they could make shots was in transition.
But Rose, Bogans and Brewer all gave up free and-1s on fast breaks, and we had three plays, two off open Deng corner threes, and one where Rose posted up deep in the lane, where it was obvious that one of our players was going to struggle to get back before their man and someone needed to drift back to stop the fast break but it didn't happen.
Really that's what I'm sure Thibs will care about, you have days when players miss shots or the wrong guy takes shots but we could have won anyway if the team just played a bit smarter in stopping the transition points.

Ughhh....let me break it down for the inept... 2 quarters = 1 half of the game....3 shots a half is an average of 1.5 shots a quarter. Thus falling in the 1-2 shots a quarter. i know it's hard math, but trya nd keep up.
Bottom line...Rose took 28 shots. Pass the Mr. MVP. If you don't you just look like you have a lot of points in the game, with another L on your teams record.

Right, so in your world players are supposed to shoot while on the bench. Gotcha.
And for what it's worth I don't think Rose should be MVP, or even under serious consideration. I just think saying he shouldn't shoot when the second option is out and everyone else is struggling is asinine.

Seriously, that had to have been the worst minute of officiating the world has ever seen. IDK how you miss the travel. Youre right next to the ball handler but yet the whole crowd is screaming bloody murder the second it happens. Un-fn-believable. Whats worse is that then the call the ofoul on Rose. What a sack of shit that game was.
