I don't understand why you guys are insulted that the media is looking at the Bulls lack of playoff-success. It is what it is and will continue to be talked about until the Bulls can win a series. Take it personally, if you want, but to me the Bulls have to show the mental toughness it takes to win a playoff series. They haven't done that since 2007.
I'm not saying they can't go far, but it is a legitimate talking piece when you are looking at teams. The media needs something to talk about before the games are played. Let them talk about it. Waaaay too many people get offended if you say anything bad about the Bulls. It's annoying as ****.
I'm not insulted at all. I just don't buy the premise. The Bulls lost in the first round the last two years because they were .500 teams. Playoff experience had nothing to do with it whatsoever. This is not the same team as last year. Boozer, Thomas, Asik, Brewer, Bogans and Korver (all major contributors) are all new to the team, so it doesn't matter what the Bulls did last year or the year before or in 1998. This isn't the same team. They have the 2nd best record and they have beaten every team in the NBA. That doesn't happen very often.
Coach Thibs may be a rookie coach, but he obviously knows what he is doing. 60-20, mostly without Boozer or Noah, shows you that. He may not have been head coach, but he was right there with the head coach in all those playoff games. That experience counts for something.
This is a different team form last year, a better team, with a better coach and their playoff inexperience, as well as their playoff history, is irrelevant.
