Deng has absolutely killed the Magic in the second half.

At the UC the Bulls start favourites against ANY team. They've been near unbeatable on home court.

Too many losses already to win 60 this year, but next year if they have a good run of injuries and pick up a replacement for Bogans, sure.

Great W tonight! Once again our defense is leading the way. We may be shooting horrible over this 5 game stretch but we held the Magic to 41% tonight & more importantly, 24% from 3. And the rebounding was sensational tonight. 32 wins! We didn't get to that mark til March last year.

Yeah we're at 14 loses. While it's possible to win 60 this year, it means we can only lose 8 more games this year. I just don't see that happening.

I'm sure this isn't the case, but it almost feels like the Bulls are holding back; Like they're thinking "We don't have to score as many points as we can. We only have to score more than our opponent."

They have beaten some really good teams this year and most of them without either Boozer or Noah. And yet they have played poorly against some really bad teams. I know that happens to every team, but some games it looks like Boozer and/or Deng are just coasting, hanging around, waiting until they are really needed. It's like the "stars" are saying "We'll make sure we do enough to win the game, but let's make sure we get the most out of everyone else on the team." Maybe that's their way of trying to make their teammates better.

I know it makes no sense to say that everyone isn't giving 100% when the team is 32-14 and they have been short handed most of the year.

Imagine how good they can be when Noah comes back and everybody is on their game on the same night!

great win! even though Rose didn't shoot well, he was getting his teammates involved and did grab some rebounds but 6-21 shooting is pretty bad though, don't want him to get caught up in trying to win MVP though especially in the 1st Half of the season

We just had no answer for Howard, even with Noah we still won't be able to stop Howard but the Bulls was able to shut down everyone else...Deng OWNS Turkoglu, he struggles every time he plays Deng and Deng plays well every time he goes against Turkoglu

and why is it that Tom plays Bogans more when he is not shooting well but plays him less when he is shooting well...I don't understand that, he was making his 3's today and he only played 15 minutes lol

Rose's off-shooting night can be attributed to the missed lay-ups (hey...kinda hard to get that off on D-Howard). more of an aberration than regular thing (and i bet if there were a viable starting 2 guard on the squad, his volume of shots would go down).

about D-Howard: that's what you want. him to work for everything. come a playoff series, D-Howard won't be able to do that every single night. so shutting down Turk is the key; take his game away, Magic have no chance (even if J-Rich gets loose). Deng's the most impressive person on this team; his defense is NUTS this year. he's shut down Granger, Turk, and a host of other players who are either the best or 2nd best players on their team.

Bogans probably wasn't playing good D (wasn't paying attention to him a lot). Tibs will sacrifice O for D (even though Booz has some letdowns at times, dude's starting to get the picture). you don't play D on this team, you're going to ride the pine; man i LOVE that mentality. that's how you win championships: by shutting down your opponent. as long as D-Rose, Deng, and Booz are on the court, the offense will flow...but defense is much, much harder. Can't wait to see this team full-strength (and with a SG). Capt. Jack or Rip, anyone?

6-21 shooting is pretty bad though

As I posted on Doug's blog, even when Rose shoots badly him taking shots is efficient offense. He missed 15 shots, which sounds bad until you consider 6 of those 15 resulted in offensive rebounds and every one of those rebounds resulted in Bulls points.

I think what we're seeing now is teams over reacting to Rose and throwing everything at him. It hurts Rose's individual numbers but helps the team win. Kind of like how the Bulls have traditionally played Howard, they've actually kept him to slightly worse than his usual numbers but the rest of the team always gets the win. Tonight they played him straight up, let him go for 40, and took the game.

Personally I don't care how badly Rose shoots if it's because teams have decided to just not let Rose beat them. The evidence so far is that it's a losing strategy. You actually want to make Rose beat you straight up, slowing him down is not worth the trade off.

I saw them beat Miami and Orlando now this year and I'm going to see them again tomorrow against the Pacers. Today we played good defense(except against Dwight but hes big as heck so we all know that). Everyone even the role players gave something to tonights win. Hoping for another win tomorrow night!!!

they tried to shut everyone down except for Dwight (coz you can't really stop him). The strategy was brilliant, let him do all the scoring but limit his teammates. Basketball is still a 5 man game.

i think the strategy is to make the bulls look less exciting by taking the ball out of rose's hands. Doing so silences the bulls crowd. as a result the background noise that acts like a barrier to the absurdly loud screams by the ice cream man. As a result, deafened fans file suit against the bulls. liability insurance and pending cases force gar pax dorf to reconsider their stance on the luxury tax. the bulls can no longer afford 'bulls players'. It's really rather brilliant.
