even though the bulls scored like mad in this game, a lot of the shots made were jumpshots, it just so happens that they were falling on this night. its a great win, but the crappy offensive "system" is still there. i just dont see this kind of offense getting us anywhere consistently.

although, rose's j is looking good, hopefully he can keep that high-arc consistent

Hard to see that. Gordon's injuries have been minor compared to Deng's. And Gordon's efficiency is still good (55+ TS%), and anyone who is watching can easily see the disarray of Detroit hurting him.

It's hard to see Cleveland, San Antonio, LA Lakers, or Portland declining a trade of their expiring contracts for Gordon.

What??????

Are you serious? Cleveland don't need him...the Lakers don't need him...Portland don't need him...he would come off the bench in San Antonio...

Once he crossed the Monta Ellis line he is practically impossible to trade...all of those teams have better players at the same position that Gordon plays at with the exception of Cleveland...and Cleveland is not going to impress Lebron by trading for Gordon...Gordon is not even the best SG named Gordon in the league...he is stuck in Detroit and he has to hope they get a franchise player there soon...otherwise he may be stuck there for the next 3 years or so and then gone with a year left on his contract.

Gordon is not a victim in Detroit...that is where he chose to play...he should just play ball and stick it out....

Agreed, lets not feel sorry for poor old Ben, he doesn't feel sorry when he goes to the bank and deposit a check from this sorry ass team, Detriot just sucks, they're locked in into so many bad contracts, Gordon, CV, Maxiel, Prince, Hamilton

What are you talking about? BG tried to stay here. So I feel sorry now that he is injured and on a bad team.
I think the point they're trying to make is that BG wanted more money than he was being offered here (and in my mind as well as others, rightly so) and he got it. So in that sense he got what he wanted and thus gets no sympathy.

I wonder what Deng would have said if he got offered 6/54? What we would have said when he declined it. Because we know the ever loyal Deng didn't like 5/58 as much as BG hated 5/50.

He probably would have done the same thing BG did. This organization sucks at making contract offers. Management considered Deng far more valuable than Deng so they went after him hard and left BG out to dry. No fault by the players, it's all on management.

I would say the same thing if Deng had turned down a contract and passed the deadline on the next contract and they decided to let him go...he goes to another team and they suck I don't feel sorry for him. He is getting paid regardless and that is what he wanted. If he wanted to go to a team that had a shot at a title he should have waited and talked to those teams.

In terms of BG, I have no problems with his leaving...get the money. Paying him a dime over 10 mil is too much. At the time...every team in the league would have offered Deng more than BG...but I saw back then that they both had reached their pinnacles. Neither would get any better...and so far I believe that to be true.

It's pretty hard to argue that we wouldn't be better off if we had offered Deng 6/54, whether he took it or not.

The problem is, people here believe BG to be better than Deng, therefore BG should have gotten more. I guess it depends on what you define as "good."

BG could give you: 20+ ppg on any occasion, clutch scoring, elite level 3 pt shooting, draw fouls, draw double teams, attract opposing teams' best defender (at least before Rose was drafted, then it really was mostly based on positional matchups the way I saw it).
Deng could give you: 18+ ppg on most nights, 20+ points on some others, elite midrange shooting, occasional 3 pt shooting, very good rebounding from the SF position, a two way player, a slashing game (how else can you score points in the paint with virtually no post presence?).

Based on what you value in the game, you can make an argument that either is better than the other.

People "here" is referring to this forum I presume? Because most wouldn't have agreed with you in 2007. Far as I am concerned...neither would have been great...
