--Inferno Fans "Fired Up" for Return--

morrison-first-practice-oct.jpg

The Inferno will hit the ice once again

Chicago, IL- After what seemed to be one of the worst snow storms to hit the city of Chicago the UHL has finally been able to do the work needed to repair the Chicago Inferno's arena and practice facility.

The team has only a single game remaining until the post-season is upon them. Inferno practices have been moved over to the rink located beside the University of Illinois, no games were played here as the rink is not a UHL regulation size.

"Tonight's the night, we've got a single game left," said right defencemen, Jordan Charles. "I hope we can pull out a win and bring some momentum into the playoffs."

Chicago looks to "burn up the competition" one last time before they make a push for their second UHL championship.

(Scene Takes Place In Team locker room, after playoff loss)

*For the third year straight, the Inferno have lost in the first round of the UHL playoffs. Chicago seems to have the worst luck, as every one of those games, they have outshot the opponent drastically. The guys make their way to the locker room in disbelief.*

Chad Fellers: *throws helmet against locker room wall* Thats the third fucking year in a row! All that hard work for nothing!

John Tait: *stares blankly* I guess some things are just not meant to be...

Eric Follman: Don't say that shit man! We will get there soon, and when we do, we're gonna shit that big ass trophy in Victoria Hills face.

Jordan Charles Jr: *sighs* Sureeeee...

Chad Fellers: Guys don't be fucking pessimistic! In this world you'll always have to overcome adversity. Look at all the adversity we've had to deal with. We've had Crooms death, a shitty owner, and now three years of shitty playoff luck. So what? We're just gonna give up? *looks around locker room* Call it quits?.....Do you think this is how Croom would've wanted to see our team right now?....*pauses for a moment to let the team think*...Would he want to see us hanging our heads, and giving up on the Inferno?...I don't think so. He'd want to see us busting our ass, and giving it our all everytime we step out there. And the fans? You think they'd like to see us like this. They're probably as pissed off as we are. They've followed over 90 games the past three years to see us go 0-3 in the playoffs...*another pause*...So let's think about others before we just give up. *walks out of locker room*

*The team sits there, silent. Chad's speech seems to have hit some of the players hard. Jordan Charles Jr, the youngest player on the team sits there, shedding a quick tear thinking about how Croom would be dissapointed that he nearly gave up on himself. Follman, still angry from the loss, quickly throws his helmet against his locker in anger, than sits quickly, burrying his head in his hands.*

John Tait: He's right. We've gotta keep working to reach that ultimate goal. This offseason, I'm gonna bust my ass harder than I ever have. Those fans out there don't deserve for us to play well all season long, just to lose in the first round.

Jordan Charles Jr: Theres gonna be a lot of shit going down this off season though man. Erics contract is up, we've got a few holes in the roster, and we've gotta find a way to be more clutch down the stretch....Oh, and we've gotta show those fuckers on the other side of town that we're the best team in this city.

John Tait: *smiles faintly* We already know the answer to that one though...

--This Off Season Should Be Interesting--

Calgary-Flames.jpg

Chicago, IL- Well, sadly, the season is over here in Chicago. Once again, for the third straight season, the Inferno have failed to advance past the first round of playoff hockey. The men were visably upset as the final horn sounded off in Inferno Arena. The fans made their presence and anger evident as well, as they threw mounds of trash onto the ice, booing.

Not booing the Inferno's performence, as they outshot and outplayed the opposing team by a longshot. More of booing the gods for the luck they have laid upon the Inferno's playoffs the past three seasons.

"I have nothing to say right now....I'm speachless," said Inferno coach Jordan Charles Sr after the game.

As the tradition goes, once you're eliminated from the playoffs, you look upon to the off season, and see what could be in store for the Inferno. Chicago looks as if they'll be in for an interesting off season this year. Last years was a slow one, as Chicago came back with the same starting lineup as the previous season.

This year, might not be the case. The future of Kerin Mitchell is in stake, as the Inferno haven't gotten on the same page as Kerin, as he seems to be used to Swedish time, which is not his fault. It's his culture.

As that goes, the Inferno will most likely look for a right wing for the team, and possibly a defender to backup John Tait and Jordan Charles Jr, who saw his best statistically based season of his career.

All in all, fans will have a solid wait, but should see another great Inferno team on the ice next season, as captain Chad Fellers and assistant captain Eric Follman are still in their prime.

--Draft Preview: Chicago Inferno--

562A0001_0_JPEG_SCREENSHOT_MEB.jpg

Alonza Jones worked out for the Inferno today, and reportedly impressed many

Chicago, IL- The Chicago Inferno, for the first time in their history, will be participating in the 2015 UHL Draft. Chicago has never drafted a player before, as they've filled all their positions through free agent signings. The team is reportedly looking to draft a young defesivemen to backup Jordan Charles Jr and John Tait.

Alonza Jones, a former all-state highschool football star, adjusted to the game of hockey after suffering his third concussion in only his sophmore year of college. A saddened Jones moved on from his favorite game, and found another game to fall in love with. That game being hockey. "I always played with my buddies growing up in Atlanta, and I was always a very good hitter. Not the best skater, but I knew how to get around a lil' bit. I never thought I'd be playing professionally, but I'm looking forward to hopefully getting drafted, and helping a team win some games," said the former football star this morning, where he worked out for the Inferno.

"We're really impressed with this kid," said coach Jordan Charles Sr, "he's reminded me a lot of [Michael] Croom, which is something I thought I'd never say."

Michael Croom, as many know, was an Inferno legend, as he led the team in laughs every year, on and off, the ice. Maybe Jones can even a little bit, fill his footsteps. The UHL draft will be held this Saturday night, so expect another update tomorrow night.
