I'll be doing a summary of all the Cubs' minor league action each day.

Today's report is here.

I created this new thread though because I need suggestions on who should be in the report each day.

So far I'm going with- the starting pitcher and any hitting prospects that I have on my own personal watch list.

If you have players that you want an update on each day, go ahead and put his name in here. I'll make sure I throw his name in the report.

Hitters I'm keeping track of so far
Darwin Barney
Tony Thomas
Brett Jackson
Hak-Ju Lee
Junior Lake
Logan Watkins
D.J. LeMahieu
Jae-Hoon Ha
Reggie Golden

Ya, he gave up 1 run in each of his last 2 starts, and 0 ER in all 5 previous starts combined.

Oh Archer will be listed for sure. Every starter in the system will be.

Are there any relief pitchers outside of Iowa we care about right now?

The field was in absolutely terrible condition and the ump wouldn't call it. So the players refused to take the field. Dumbfuckin' ass. I hate you so much right now, you have no idea.

I was at the Peoria game last night. I almost got into a fight with this dude who was high because I told him I loved him. He wanted to "take it outside." I told him that we were outside... it's a baseball game.

Game was incredibly boring though. The 1st inning took 45 minutes. But I really really really really really love Hak Ju Lee. Wallach seemed to pitch pretty well, but the ump's zone was not giving him some of the pitches he wanted. I really like Jae Hoon Ha's arm though. He has a cannon out there in RF.

Yeah, I'm starting to liek lee more and more. I know he's only 19 or almost 20, but he should be called up to Daytona, then in Spring Training be optioned to the Smokies and take the same route as Castro. Play in the majors sometime next seaosn but I doubt it.

Lineup then:
Castro
Colvin
1B
Ramirez
Byrd
Soriano
Soto
Lee
Pitcher

Then, if Lee hits, move him to 2nd, Colvin to 3rd. But, this all depends on the 1B. If they get Dunn or Pena, 2nd but if not and LaHair or Hoff is 1B put them 8th then. But, that's unlikely.

No, Lee should not get the Castro treatment. Castro is the exception, not the rule. We need to take our time with Lee, as we have DeWitt at 2B for now... and he's cheap.

Once Lee is up here, he needs to be hitting lead-off, not Castro. Castro doesn't get on base as much as Lee.

I just want Brett Jackson up and then I'll think about Lee and Vitters, and Jay Jackson, etc.

No one thought Castro would get called up this early. Maybe, Lee does the same thing. That's what I am thinking.

I know he's 19 but he will be 20 time next season comes. I just would l;ike to see, what that kid can do in the majors. The Cubs are out, I just want top spects to get called up. Not the avergae spects. But, that's what is going to happen. Like, Jackson, Jackson, Archer, Lee, Carpetner, etc. That would be so cool. Anyone else think that?

Don't bash me because I know that won't happen and probably none of those will get called up. I just wish.

Trey McNutt is an underrated prospect. 32nd round pick by the Cubs in the 2009 Draft and he's been excelling ever since. He's got a great fastball and a power curveball, and he can strike guys out (10.51 K/9 in the minors so far). He needs to develop a 3rd pitch, but he's a steal by Tim Wilken and the Cubs

Opinions on Chris Archer in AA? He went to my high school.

This was up this morning, but I just got time to post it in here now.

Today's update.

My question for today- Why don't we here more about Tony Thomas? His OPS is in the .830s and he seems to have some patience at the plate. Shouldn't he be coming to Chicago over Darwin Barney?

I think Barney is more of a proven hitter in hitting the ball and contact. But, Thomas has more power and takes more walks. So, it's a toss up.

No time for a full post today.

Brett Jackson went 2-4 though, so he's pretty good at baseball still.

Tonight on the farm

AAA Iowa @ 7:05- SP: Jeff Samardzija
AA Tennessee @ 7:15- SP: Chris Archer
High A Daytona @ 7:05- SP: Dae-Eun Rhee
Low A Peoria @ 7- SP: Su-Min Jung

Those first three starters are arguably the biggest name on their respective starting staff.
