Ok, this might be fun..Might not be...

Your homework assignment for the bye week is to watch an old Bears games. Find one on youtube, VHS, DVD, ...whatever and watch it.

Post what game you think you'll watch here.

Come back here on Bears Monday where I will have a Homework Impressions Thread and tell us about. Little things you noticed that you had forgotten, things you liked, didn't like, bigger picture things you noticed, what has changed? What has stayed the same? Whatever you feel.

See you on Monday..hopefully we have some good stuff.

Sounds fun. Here is my pick: Panthers @ Bears Week 11 2005. Just an insane defensive performance, probably the best of that 2005-2006 stretch (Miracle in the Desert probably #2, that second half was unreal, Urlacher took over that game).

I would like to compare that to what we are seeing now for some perspective.

Awesome!

Most dominant pass rush I saw from a Bears team aside from the '84-'86 days in that Carolina game.

Anderson missed vs the Falcons in 98 when he was perfect in the regular season.

I want to watch the 2008 week 17 game vs the Texans but can't find it. I never actually watched it live.. was out of town and only followed on my phone. If I recall, we controlled our own destiny and were in if we won. Got off to a good start but couldn't keep the lead and lost by 7 IIRC.

FirstTimer, you are just like one of those pimply faced camp consolers trying to herd all the kids into the activity tent to build dust catchers to bring home to their parents.

Couldn’t keep it together in the last qtr. When they scored that TD I knew it was over.

Think I might go with this game:

1980, Week 2. Saints @ Bears. Almost went with the 1995 NFC Wildcard game @ Minn but decided to do an older game.

Been watching this. One thing really stands out - football used to be much more of a brute force, physical maniac, frothing animal sort of affair.

These days, the effort is still there, but players are technicians now. Its less brute force and more precision, speed, and complexity now.
