Luckily my wife understands that I'm a gamer and will always be a gamer. She always tells me as long as I work the overtime she doesn't care. Like when I told her I'm thinking l about dropping $200 on a pair of gaming headsets.

I can't really find myself spending hundreds of dollars on a system I wouldn't have a whole lot of time to play right now anyways.

This is why you buy a computer and don't even mess with a gaming console. It's true you will spend more but you have a very multi purpose entertainment system, one you can sell a wife on. I built a very high performance computer for $1200 building it myself. Music, Videos, applications, internet, and gaming. You should be able to sell getting a computer to your wife/gf, I was. Once she saw the functional value and free entertainment she can't live without it :)

I now game from a recliner on a very fast PC on a 70" LED TV. It's completely BADASS. So much better than a console, it's not even funny.

My girlfriend doesn't believe in anything but laptops. Thinks PC's are dumb.

I built a $1200 computer in 2008...I never built it with the intention of gaming. I'm just not a big gamer. I was more into media, thus I wanted a way to record shit.. like Bears games. Thats what I use that computer for still.. I just never properly hooked it up to a TV.

I tried it out, it's.... meh. But I've never really cared for CoD games. If you enjoy CoD or enjoyed Titanfall you'd probably like this game. It's generally a mix of the two.

I can see her point, she doesn't need the power of the desktop. They are just cheaper and give you more performance. If you saw my setup you would see why I made the choice.

I probably don't need to. What you described was my dream in 2008, but economically and logistically not possible then for me.

I've played some of the campaign and about 3 hours of online play. It's not to bad, definitely better than some past entries. They definitely tried copying titanfall

Same with my old lady. However, we are on our first high end desktop. Give us 10 years.

When she has gone through 3 laptops at $800-$1200 each (she is a very demanding user with lots of CPU intensive applications) and I have spent less the 800 bucks over that same time and still have a computer that runs laps around her shit while still having mobility with a cheap laptop, she will come around.

If you need a computer to do more than internet, movies, and word processing, then cycling through laptops is fucking Special person.

Exactly, you can buy a high end laptop for gaming but you will pay and arm and a leg for it. Also, it's impossible to upgrade and heat becomes an issue as well. So why buy a high end gaming laptop when you can get a high performance desktop for 1k-1.5 k. Then if you want mobility for internet, movies, and music you can buy a 300$ laptop that will work for YEARS. This is typically what I do. A high end desktop in my family room for my family's gaming and entertainment. A cheap cheap cheap laptop I can move around and plug into whatever TV I want if I want to watch shows in a different room.
