To me have to give him chance. Someone with that type of speed is a game changer. His singles turn into doubles/triples, his defense above avg. If he can get on base .340+ he be a good mlb player

I don't post much in the baseball forums but how is that relevant at all?

It's a funny video of an opposing team's outfielder stumbling and bumbling?

there have been a ton of fast ass players in the history of the game that were ONLY used to pinch run. he isnt very good.

Everyone knew that Alonso could look bad in LF but CIN loves his bat.

I dont care about the outfielder, im specifically talking about campana. I dont care if the outfielder fainted out there, the fact that campana hit a homerun will give a lot of fans false hope that campana is a starter and will be a starter in the bigs because he is sooooooo fast.

Your opinion. Pierre sure had one hell of career with his speed with not much power. With power down across baseball speed guys like him will be huge.

So far only one person has even suggested giving him a chance in this thread. I think the vast majority of us here view Campana as a useful 5th OF while he is dirt cheap.

Pierre also made a lot more contact than Campana does. Pierre in his prime was one of the hardest man in baseball to strike out. Campana unforunately is not that difficult to strike out. To be useful with his current skills he either has dramatically cut the strikes out and/or dramatically increases his walks. Neither is terrible likely as a 25 year old.

just because he is fast, doesnt mean he will have a career like juan pierre. Im not even talking about the power, im talking about the speed.

Im just tired of guys like you who dont give him a chance. Teams dream of guys that can run like him. Im not saying he going to be a stud. Im saying he could be a very usefull MLB player. Personally i give him shot in CF espicially for a team that is 20 games under .500 Again with HR down speed is a huge advantage to teams. He makes singles/walks turn into doubles/triples.

It all comes down if he can get on base enough. In Minors he had .350 OBP through his career. If he can do around that in MLB then he could be a starting CF. Thats the only question about his game. To me him playing once a week wont prove if he can or not. Today he has hit 3 hard hit balls. I know its just one day but his speed will not go away like Soriano HR do.

I know not to many guys high on him but i am. As you said if he can cut down his K's then he could be huge piece. I just know HR going down and guys who can run like him could become VERY usefull
